Hello Friends.

I received my passport with my K-3 Visa yesterday.

Please tell me all the others who is ready to go to the US with this Visa. Are you going on your K-3(I-129)? and still proceed with the CR1 (I-130), or are you abandoning the I-130 now and will just do Adjustment of Status once you've entered the US.

I am confused about what happens to the I-130 now that my I-129(K3) has been approved.

Thank you.

HELLO

I got my passport with my K3 visa on June 12th.

I'm leaving next week on July 10th.

We will go for the Adjusment of Status next. I think that when you apply for the AOS on a K3 visa you'll need to submit a copy of the approved I-130 with your application.

Best of Luck to ALL

Sincerely,

Jon & Jess

Thank you..

The information I have says they want "Submit Copy of NOA2 "Approval" for I-130. That I have. I just don't know if we should continue with the CR1, AOS...and will this mean that once I go to the US on my K-3, I'll need to come back for an I-130 interview?

Confusing, confusing....

A "visa" is used to enter a country. If you've entered the USA on a K3 visa, of course you would have to go back to South Africa and interview for any CR1 visa, then enter the USA again using the CR1 visa. It's an option but whether it's a good one or not depends on your plans, needs and priorities.

Thank you very much...you seem very knowledgeble about this stuff.....

I just want to know if I have a choice

going for the Adjustment of Status or doing the CR1 road........or is it an absolute must to do both?......

I want to know if I can now ignore the CR1 and just do Adjustment of Status when I'm in the states? My consulate makes it sound like I MUST do the CR1 road.....it's just a huge financial implication to do CR1 and Adjustment of Status, especially if I have to come back for the CR1 interview

Already answered. See bold in my original. Your option. Yes, you may simply ignore the I-130 and adjust status.
