To All, Happy 4th of July!!!!

If anyone from USCIS reads this, I have a comment for the organization:

While everyone in the US celebrates the 4th, this year will be my first year that I don't properly celebrate because I feel too guilty celebrating while my wife is halfway around the world going through the agony and stress of being apart. You have the opportunity to enjoy Independence Day with your family while most of us don't have the luxury. This country was based on the fundamental idea of democracy and freedom and the pursuit of happiness. Thank you, USCIS, for denying me my happiness on this occasion with your lack of care and for implementing a procedure that is clearly lined with inequality.

Marriage : 2007-11-24

I-130 Sent : 2007-12-10

I-130 NOA1 : 2008-02-04

I-129F Sent : 2008-02-08

I-129F NOA1 : 2008-02-11

Very much agree with you, could not be said better..

Unfortunately too many founding principles of this country were forgotten in the last years.

Well said... well expressed. Why is it so hard just to be with the person we love? Why all these rules!

So much paperwork and all. Watch, in few years, they're going to attach couples to machines to test if you're lying, or maybe they'll start dissecting our hearts out to see if we really have our wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend's name written in our hearts.

Anyhow... Have a safe July 4th!

It's my first time celebrating this holiday. Good luck to you all~

K1-Visa in Montreal, Canada.

4/07 - Filed the I-129 F [Petition for Alien Fiancé(e)] Along with Bio forms [G-325a for both of us]

6/07 - Forms got resent back to my Fiance because I forgot to sign some papers. [silly me]

11/28/07 - Got my K1-Packet 3!!! It was a headache to fill in the papers.

2/15/08 - Sent all documents and forms through express! I was close to the expiration date

3/27/08 - Interview letter!!! I was in the US with my Fiance so I couldn't come back in time, rescheduled appointment.

4/24/08 - Got my interview done :) Approved! Passport+visa+brown envelope will be sent within a week.

5/1/08 - Got my Visa!

~ Flying to US on 6/11/08.

~June 19 2008- Married!!!

7/25/08 - Sent in AOS: I-485 along with EAD, AP.

8/7/08 - EAD, AP, AOS touched.

8/19/08 - Got an RFE for I-485... Fixing it.

8/22/08 - Biometrics taken in Portland.
