Cham, don't panic.. many people say that the interview was nothing compared to how much they stressed themselves out over it. In the UK you're only asked a few questions about the relationship, rarely asked to show anything, they care more about finances... it's probably similar to Australia, just double check with the consulate experiences.

They're not going to consider your age for a moment, I think. They're not allowed to make moral judgements, just "are they together and can they support them"... questions will probably be based around the time you've met, what you do, your family, etc... he will do completely fine. You'll wonder what all the fuss was about. :)

Congrats :D

Cham, it will all be okay. I'm a nutcase with Andy gone too, and I get paranoid and argue with him more, too. It's all very stressful and upsetting, but it will all work out in the end. The entire situation stresses your emotions and finances, so don't be so hard on yourself. When it gets too ugly, I go back and read some old chat logs or emails that remind me just how great the man I'm going to marry is. It helps me keep perspective. And fortunately Andy knows I'm a nut and loves me anyway. :D

I hope you're all planning ways to make your Thanksgiving and Christmas days special, with or without your SO there. Holidays are always tough when finances are tight, but I hope you're coming up with ways to make it easier... cards, care packages, e-cards, volunteer somewhere, or have over another person that can't make it home for the holidays.

Best wishes to all of you, and I hope we all get approved soon.

Congrats! Please update your timeline so we can all see ourselves move up one spot :).

Cham, I'm so sorry you're all stressed out. Take a deep breath and remember that the longest part of the wait is over. You're closer to marrying him now than you've ever been! There are lists of questions here on VJ, have you or Kai looked at them? If he's really that worried about it, if he knows the answers to all of those questions he'll be certain to have no issues!

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...age=exampleq#k1

Like Gemmie said, they'll probably only ask you a handful of questions. They cannot make moral judgments about age or previous marriages, and it's not uncommon at all for people to have been married more than once or twice until they find the right person. Don't feel bad about things like age and the past, okay?! He loves you so very much if he's willing to go through all of this just to be with you. I don't think the visitation situation matters either. You must have a million pages of phone records, and tons of letters, packages, receipts for wedding stuff, etc. You could probably even throw in a few letters from friends or family members who know the situation. The USCIS says you should have met within the last 2 years, and you have! If they wanted the guidelines stricter than that they would've made them that way. International relationships are always expensive and I'm sure they're used to visitation being an issue. Plus, it's not like you're going through a particularly high fraud embassy.

Good luck and I really hope you get your NOA2 soon!

It seems this process makes us all a little crazy, each in our own way.

My flatmate says I have a bad case of Visa Incipitis. The closer it gets, the crazier I am

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

SOOO...now that we are approved my co-sponsor just backed out at the last minute and I have no idea what I am going to do. I asked my dad if he would be willing to sponsor JOhny and I have yet to get an answer out of him. Dammit why does the united states make it so hard. My fiance went to school here but yet cannot come back here without a fight. I highly doubt after someone goes to college in a rich country goes back to a poor country and wants to come back to a rich country to use his education would be a public charge. But yet they also make them wait three months to get a job, even someone that go educated here....so ya basically i dont know what to do...he might not be coming home after all...

Well thank you everyone for your kind words! You guys are awesome!! My dad did agree however to sponsor him he told me before i went to work this morning. HE sponsored my brother-in-law and said it wouldn't be fair to me not to sponsor Johny. SO now i just have to have him get all of his paper work together because johny should be recieving his packet 3 in the mail this week. I have everything i need ready pretty much. This whole support paper is stressing me out im not sure i am filling it out right. Is there instructions somewhere i can look at? and seems how my dad and i live in the same house, does he just do the same things i fill out for support or does he have to do anything additional??? I know he makes probably at least 40,000 a year and he has a house, life insurance, retirement and stuff like that. He also has to claim himself, my brother in law, and my fiance. HOwever he doesnt have to put me on there at all does he even though i live with him? because i have my own job and a daughter ???? pleasssssse HELLPPPPP!

I am also scared that after the interview he will be denied so its good to see that i am not the only one stressing out over this. i would be devastated if we got all of the way to the interview only for them to deny us. I called him last night crying, i cannot help it. he is so good to me and i could not imagine my life without him. I just miss him so much and i hope that he is now approved for a visa. I wish this process wasn't so hard....

Anyways CONGRATS TO THE APPROVALS!!!

YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

Hey guys,

I posted this as a reply on the june forum, but maybe you can tell me what you think, I'm closer to you now my friends of the July waiting room ;)

I have to admit that I'm scared to receive a RFE now, even if it is the first time that I read this :

QUOTE(kiwie @ Nov 22 2008, 04:02 AM) *

I have to admit... I'm going a little nuts here. How I wish they would process the petitions in the order they receive them!

I'm more than just a little nuts, since this RFE story my life is centered around USCIS, it's driving me crazy, I hope it will soon be over , I can't stand it anymore, I miss my baby more than ever.

Do you know exactly when does the file go through the security check?

My fiance thinks our delay is because of our RFE, they asked for a copy of the original of my divorce certificate (we sent only the translation into English), because he says the certificate doesn't look too official (it's a 2 page document , signed, stamped so very official smile.gif ). I don't know what to think anymore....Maybe the file is stuck at the security check (I don't know if it's done before or after a RFE), maybe our files is lost on someone's desk.

Sorry to bother you guys with my problems, my thoughts....I lost my optimism after this RFE, it's not me anymore.

Ok, I'm totally worried now. In France our "divorced certificate" is just our "Birth certificate". On our birth certificate we have the mentions "divorced" with dates and place etc... I only sent my translated copy because they ask : All your documents have to be in english.

So it was translated by an official translator, with stamps, dates signature and mention : "Mister X sworn translator to the court of appeal of Douai, I certify the within and foregoing is a true, full and correct translation of the french original instrument as the same appears on record and file in my office etc...."

Do I have to be worried ? I really thought that they ONLY wanted the official translated document.

The first quote part is from this Belgium girl. My reply is beginning with "Ok, I'm totally worried now..."

Unless the French certificate is alot like the Belgian one, I wouldn't worry too much. Plus, you never know the history of that person, maybe there is more going on than just that...

I would hope USCIS has seen a French certificate before so it wouldn't be a big problem. All of these packets are made up of copies of everything; it's not realistic to send originals I think. 6 months without your birth certificate?

NOA 2. Really?

Well, the birth certificate is never the original. Only the french government has the originals. But you can get a copy whenever you want just by asking to your city court. And you are right about the fact that I don't know the history of that person. I will try to not getting worried, but the closer I get to the 4 months NOA1 anniversary the more nervous I get.

I'm so tired of this waiting, if we knew that before we would sent our petition at the beginning of the year. But like several person we thought that we could get married whenever we wanted...

My man arrives in 5 days in France so I'm happy, but we can't stop to think that 10 days after we will have to say goodbye to each other again and it is horrible ! And the worse like everybody here I think, is that you don't know when you will see your loved one again.

I don't understand why as a husband and wife to be we don't have the right to go back and forth just to be with each other. I find crazy that you can be denied at the border because you want to see your love. Whatever, I will stop now cuz' I could write page and page about the stupidity (sp) of the K1 process

I can just tell you for France cuz' I don't know about Japan. You need official translated documents for your petition, but you don't need translated document for your interview. People who work at the embassy can understand the language of the country they live in. I think that you need english documents when you deal with the USA directly like for the petition or the AOS
