Even though our time for the noa2 becomes closer i fell like the waiting has become even longer. I just start to worry about all of the what ifs and hope we arent the unlucky one's who have to post on the 6+ month waiting club. I just worry alot.

Our plans are all on hold yet again. I return to Maine on the 1st of December and need to get back to work and find a place to live. Seeing as we dont know when this will get done and we will have the visa , we have decided not to make any future plans as I cant take let downs again.

Two weeks ago Keith tells me that even if the visa is here in December he isnt coming home to me because he owes his parents money for helping us out while here. His parents paid for the 6 months so that we could have a place. Keith went back to work at the place he use to work at but having stayed with me for so long in Maine he had gone through all of his savings. I am really upset that yet again he is putting our lives on hold.. I know some of you will say.. understand what he is feeling owing his family money etc and yes I do but at the same time there is always something in the way. I love him and I will wait forever for him but that doesnt mean I have to like it .

My hopes for plans are that he will miss me so much that by the time the visa comes he will tell me he is on his way and we will beable to continue on with the plans from the beginning. I have already told him if he does this then I will help him to pay them back in full. He knows I will do this so I am going to stay positive, focused and yes the big P word I will work really hard to be Patient

I guess I am just down as I cant imagine xmas without him there. I know most of you have been apart for so long and probally feel that I am being silly. I do treasure the time we have been able to spend together and I will survive the holidays but what is hard for me is this... I know that on xmas day, he will be surrounded by his family, his son, and his EX WIFE as his mother considers her family still. So I sit home all alone on xmas day , knowing that they are celebrating the holiday together , just hurts alot. I do trust him but still its the point. He says , I dont understand that things are different and he also says her being there is NO big deal... He doesnt love her and hasnt for a long time and that he loves me so I have nothing to worry about. Worry, isnt the problem , sharing that special day without him is the problem .. sorry I am rambling again... I just will be glad when this is finished and we can all relax and just be happy.

Personal...

Chelle, it's understandable you're feeling let down. I hate when plans have to be cancelled or postponed! Do you know when Keith plans on coming over now? When does he think he'll have paid off the money? I kind of understand wanting to pay off the money first as I owe my dad money too and want to pay him back before I move to the US, so that I can begin the new chapter of my life without thinking 'hmm I still owe him that money..'. Also, consider the exchange rate too; it would be easier to pay it off when in the UK. I know it sucks though.. your emotions are bound to be all over the place at the moment anyway as you can feel the date coming up when you have to leave. That is the HARDEST thing.

Just try to focus on how great the time together has been.. you've been very lucky, I would do anything to have 6 months with my fiance! We've had a total of 6 months together over almost 6 years!!

As for Christmas, try not to worry about his ex-wife. As you say, it's not that it's his ex that is the problem if you trust him, but knowing someone else gets to spend that precious time with him. Don't forget that he'll be moving over to be with you very soon.. Christmas is only a holiday, but next year you two will be reunited without having to worry about leaving again.

Darkraven, it's fine for your dad to co-sponsor if he lives with you. We're doing the same.

I just wanted to say, even though I had never posted before, I loved reading everyone's warm messages of support - and you guys don't even know each other. It really inspired me to believe in the kindness of strangers, and whilst I'm so happy for everyone who has gone through this awful K1 process and is about to get their NOA2s; sadly, my fiancé has told me he isn't ready for marriage. It breaks my heart as we were sure to get our NOA2 through in a couple of weeks time, but whilst I know the only way we can be together is to get married, we've not even been together a year - and we knew we'd only be marrying for a visa. So, after a lot of crying and talking, we agreed to wait a couple more years, then reapply for the K1 visa. I can't say I'm not scared though - what if the USCIS refuse us just because we withdrew our application the first time round? I'm hoping that this kind of thing happens frequently, with newly engaged couples putting in for their K1, then withdrawing them just to enjoy their relationship a while longer before reapplying the second time a couple of years down the line. Anyway, after that rant, I just want to say - thank you for giving me hope with the visa situation, and you are all in my thoughts - the best of luck to getting your NOA2s, then getting your K1s, and then finally - marrying the one you love.

Don't worry, I think you're good for the future. You've only petitioned for the visa, you haven't actually applied for the K1 yet, that's only once it gets to the consulate. Not that it would have any bearing on the future anyway.

I understand how you feel with the 'only getting married for a visa' business. There's no way to be together in America as boyfriend and girlfriend, unless one of you is a skilled worker or directly related to a USC. Even tourist visas run out, that's if you're lucky enough to get one with a boyfriend/girlfriend there. We've had the same discussion many times ourselves and that's why we're not having a big wedding, in fact we might not have a wedding at all. We're looking at just signing the marriage papers at this time to be together and then when we know that *we* want to get married, have a fancy wedding, change names, etc for *us* and not for the stinking US government... we'll do that. :)

Hope to see you back on VJ in the future!

I'm so sorry missbluesky. I can understand that it is better to wait if your fiancé is not ready but I'm sure that it might be very painful to hear :(

This K1 is a very stressful, boring process. I don't know where and how my man and I are finding the strenght to go through this.

I don't know why but I'm sure to get approved next week, I hope to not be disappointing, we will see...

Lots of love and courage

Juliette
