I have no hurry getting my noa2. :( we talked more about it today n my guy wants to make sure all his debts are paid off n save up a bit for when he moves here. so even after we get approved, he probly wont move here right away. will take the full 6 months to come here. so I may be looking at a full year. how do i deal with that? i'm angry n sad. i cant wait that long. :crying::crying::crying: i dont want to lose 6 months of our lives together over money! wat do i do? i just want to cry :(

:( I'm sorry.

I have debts here from my previous marriage GRRRRR well an truly stitched up but thats another story lol

Ive been paying them BUT nothing would stop me from being with Shan.

I plan on getting my EAD at the POE so I can work straight off and i'll pay my debts from the US. Maybe he could do the same?

K1 129 days to approval

K1 179 days to interview

EAD 45 days to approval

I know all about the money problems!!! Andy finally landed an interview next Tuesday -- the job isn't anything great, but at least it pays more than his tiny unemployment check. I'm racking up my own debt finishing up my degree, but at least I've got money in the bank to get us through. Still, if he lands this job next week, I'll probably ask him to stay there longer to save up enough to at least pay for his flight & AOS. That's a couple thousand bucks - not small change for our pocketbooks nowadays!!!

I've thought about the EAD stamp, but I'm not sure we'll be able to get it. Flying through JFK is likely to cost us an arm & a leg, and it's the only place I see people have regular luck getting it. Then it still takes 2-4 weeks to get your SS card. That leaves only 8-10 weeks of work time. I've also read a lot about employers not wanting to hire people knowing they're going to be done in such a short time. The way I've summed it up in my head, it'd be worth it if you can A.) guarantee quick hiring & B.) don't pay much extra to go through JFK & C.) don't mind losing your first paying job in the US so fast. :/ I'm not confident about any of those.

On a random side note, I'm reminded lately on a daily basis just how immature a 20-year old can be. I wish someone would show some of these green college kids the real world for a few minutes! Ugh!

yes, but i heard its very hard and rare to get an EAD at POE. thanks for your advice!

Good points about the EAD. yes, i heard its very unlikely to get that. Let us know if Andy gets the job! that will be awesome! I was wondering if i was the only one out there who had the problem of money. Everyone here seems to be ready to go once they get their approval. I dont have debts, i have enough for the wedding, honeymoon, life together, but my guy has debts that he needs to pay off. I'll just keep praying and I know God will work something out. the thought of waiting a whole year makes me want to cry. just have to see...

we just want to be with our hunnies! well no matter what, at least we met our loves! i rather have him 6000 miles away then never to have met him. I'm so blessed! =)

p.s. who are these 20 yr olds? lol

It is funny how people who meet face to face take their SO for granted BUT us who do not get to see our loved ones KNOW the pain of not seeing our SO and not taking it all ofr granted.

Kai got his debts paid and has now been saving hard core. I am driving my sister to jobs so she can move out before he gets home.

I love my sisters and the kids BUT I want OUR life..

We probably talk non-stop 8 hours a day. Pretty amazing given the time change, 15 hour difference, and the fact that we aren't even on the same day.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

yes! just to be able to hold hands, look in each others eyes, breathe the same air! definitely wont take it for granted! plus, correct, i'm sure we all know sooo much about each other then couples married yrs...cause all we all can do is talk! for hours and hours a day for years. I have never been closer to anyone! i think all this time apart is building a real strong foundation of communication n friendship that you couldnt get any other way. tho painful, i think we are very fortunate !

Hi PB&JAM,

I know exactly how you feel as I am in the same situration almost. I came to England to be with my guy back in June of this year. Our plans had gotten so messed up before from a bad choice that he had made while in america and he wanted to fix it so brought me and my daughter here to be with him during the process.

Last week, he informs me that he isnt comeing home until his debts are paid in full. He owes his family quite a bit of money due to helping us out when I got here , finding a place to live etc. I just looked at him and didnt say a word but the tears instantly came because I thought to myself here we go again, another excuse! He then told me that he was planning on sending me home 2 weeks early so that he could give up the apartment, move in with his parents, get a second job and pay them off. He says he will then come home to me but it might be the entire 6 months before he can do this. I am so angry, upset, hurt and very defensive at this point.

The way I look at this is , we love each other, we have made a commitment to be as one for the rest of our lives. I dont need a piece of paper to tell me I am his wife cause I feel it in my heart. We call each other husband and wife and have for a long time. I always thought when you love someone you stick it out, you fight together to make ends meet you dont run away and do it on your own. I feel that money is coming between us and maybe it is cause in the long run he is missing the things he use to have , he says no but I see it everytime he sees his family get something new and he just cant afford it. Yes its been a struggle while I have been here and yes we have had days when food was a wonder how we gonna get it but we always do and we always make it. For me to be able to hold him and love him is worth more then any amount of money. I guess I am a fool to feel that way but after living my life with a abusive man , being with such a warm loving man is worth the world to me.

I have cried my eyes out for weeks now since he told me all of this and he says I dont understand and NO I dont understand. anyways he phoned the airlines and it is going to cost way to much to send me home so we are going with the original date of dec 1st. I will then return to america, stay with my daughter for a few weeks, find a full time job as the one I have there now is only part time but I cant raise my girls on that income alone. Then I will find a place for me and my girls and hope and pray that he loves me enough to return to me when he can. I have no other choice but to do this because he says he is doing this for my own good. Umm when did he get the right to decide what was for my own good? oh well life is life

So I do understand how you feel, I do feel the same way.. Money is more iimportant then me? Money is going to keep me and him apart but as he said its the best thing for me.

I hope your guy wakes up and realizes that there is other options and rushes home into your arms as soon as he can. My brit is to damn stubborn and cant see it , I told him to remember the pain of us being apart and to remember how it feels to look at me through a computer screen. I can only hope that he misses me so much that he will rush home then too.

God bless you

Chelle

NAH not crazy at all!

I think meeting someone online has made me not take someone for granted. when you meet someone in person you have the physical first..BUT online you have to learn communication and you are very emotional with the other person.

I find that kai and I have a very strong and powerful connection compared to others I have dated or married. I never and I mean NEVER thought I would fall for someone I met on World of Warcraft LOL..who knew

IT was ####### at CSC to:( I wish this would hurry I so want him home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Totally with you on that one!!! And i think communication is one key out of several to a good relationship too! I think we all probably 'chat' to our SO more in one year than what a married couple would do in a 5 year marriage LOL!

SO true I can recommend this to anyone who is having problems to try a ldr THEn complain! LOL

Totally agree with everyone on this one, Shan and I are more than "husband and wife" we're best friends too, something I've never had in a relationship before. We share everything even the silly everyday stuff like opening our mail together on cam.

Its hard and regularly one of us will "crash" and there'll be tears and frustration with this whole process but we are there for each other always with a virtual hug and reassuring words. I wouldnt give up this opportunity for anything! Shan is my soul mate and nothing will stop us being together.

No movement at all this week so far. As a matter of fact, moved a bit backwards as a few new people signed up. What, USCIS folks started celebrating the Election day first thing Monday morning?

I hear ya, certainly seems to have slowed down a little in VSC this week :bonk:
