Well I'm totally depressed right now... I just got a reply from an old topic. With our petition we sent my birth certificate which is the document in France where you can find the "divorced" mention with dates and blablabla. We don't have this official paper like in the US "declaration of divorce". And now I'm scared to get a RFE... HELP !!!

I just checked on the official USCIS instructions to fill the 129F :

If either you or your fiancé(e) were married before, give copies of documents showing that each prior marriage was legally terminated

So I hope that my birth certificate will be enough !!!

I'm sure you'll be fine!! fingers crossed for you both !!

Gee, seems like California's been really slow as of late. Hard to assess the real processing speed since we don't know how many people outside of VJ are getting approved, but it would be nice to see some REAL movement on Igor's list. It's been stuck on neutral for a while now. :bonk:

On an unrelated note, I'm thinking about writing a letter to both my Senator and Congressman. Not so much to complain about my particular case, but just to express my feelings about this process as a whole and inadequate job USCIS is doing processing the cases and keeping us "informed". I realize chances anything will change are very slim and our group here certainly won't be affected in any case, but maybe it will be of some help to those who come after us. Anybody else is thinking about doing the same???

My fiancé and I just mailed off our package today to the California Service Center. Who else is filing this month? I'd love to hear from you!

I'm a nervous nelly as we're headed out of town for several weeks so he can meet my parents. I mailed the package certified/return receipt so I can check that they received it. I guess I will just keep anxiously checking to see if they cash my check while I'm away!

I filed my I-130 on June 14, they got it and received NOA 1 on the 17th.

I filed my I-129F on July 1st, they got it and received NOA 1 on the 4th.

Nothing since then... I called every Monday but same story as the one I checked online. 6 months... they say they are still working on FEB months, I actually have spoke to Case officer from USCIS.

Patience is the name of the game... soon to be PATIENT...LOL!!!

But being in the Army as we say it " HURRY UP AND WAIT !!!"

I hope that it'll all be over in 30 or so days for me. My fiance and I have started a friendly little competition with guessing our NOA2 date. I'm super optimistic and am hoping for the NOA2 Nov 29 - Dec 5, Dec 5th to be specific. My fiance is less optimistic/more realistic and estimates Dec 3 - Dec 10, Dec 8 to be specific. The winner gets something special, TBA. Our timeline says Dec 13- 18 today but whatever to that :) Something small to pass the time. On the bright side, it's been 89 days since I received the NOA1, so more time down, less to go.

I'm feeling confident we'll start to see some more early July filers being approved by the end of this week and certainly next week, then its just a waiting game I guess.

We did fax our senator last Monday and got a reply this morning, he had contacted USCIS on our behalf and they quoted some BS about currently working on FEB 08 files! MY other half promptly faxed him back several time lines from VJ that were late June and early July NOA2's so we'll see if he gets back to them.......

I just want to go home don't like this waiting, am going mad..........
