Hey, I just read your timeline and your NOA1 arrived middle of august. Of course you won't have your visa on 2008, maybe a miracle will happen but don't hope to have your visa in hands before the end of february...

Agreed, you should assume at least a month between NOA2 and a visa issuance. And that'd be speedy indeed. You're looking at 1-2 week minimum before the packet reaches the embassy, and then many issue packet 3, packet 4's -- you'll have to check your embassy for the particulars. And some are just plain backed up to book interviews and you may wait awhile after you've gathered all your paperwork. My NOA2 is estimated at the end of November, and I've known all along I'm looking at January or February before my SO reaches the states.

One of the things I dread most is spending my first Christmas alone this year, so I understand your hope to have your SO here before the year's end. But I would assume that won't happen and be pleasantly surprised if s/he makes it to the states by February. Better to be surprised than disappointed through this rollercoaster mood swing of a wait, imho.

Holidays alone are pretty crappy. Nothin like a work Christmas party when your gf / fiancee is in another country. This will be the second Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. like that. Hopefully it's the last.

2009 should be great for all of us.

NOA 2. Really?

The only holiday Kai got to spend with me was valentines and Easter. I wanted him home for Christmas and I know that wont happen LOL I know he will be here between Jan and Feb (maybe march)

I have decided to save ALL his presents and KEEP the tree up UNTIL he gets home. My whole family giggled BUT we have planned a Christmas party for the next day of his arrival. The first night he is back I am taking him to a hotel!!

THEN the next day make that 2 hour drive home where they will say SURPRISE LOL

we have all the holidays he missed with us wrapped into one day.

I hope he likes it

07/15/2008 I-129f sent to VSC

07/19/2008 I-129f received at VSC

08/06/2008 NOA1 dated

THIS is based on other VJ timelines and an estimate. Being that you sent out your I-129f on the 15 and it was stamped on Aug 6th. I would not expect Oct or november (you are not a july filer you are actually August, even though you mailed it OFF in july your NOA1 is dated for august)

I looked at last years AUgust filers and the beginning of august was not until the MIDDLE Of Deceber. SO I would NOT get excited about what your time line ays. IT could be the time line time it could be a little early OR it could be a month later. ( it has been known to that.)

The best advice is BE PATIENT and expect around feb or march for your sweetie to be home

I know we all want our babies home..SOON ALL SOON. I been praying HARD for us!

Awww that is soo lovely Cham! What a wonderful idea!! Something you will both remember forever!

I have mainly spent 4th July's with my SO, so am really looking forward to our first Christmas together (hoping it will be 2009 one! ;) )

Rob&Dawn: As Cham said the vj timelines are just estimates. Sometimes I think that the process at both service centres have no rhyme or reason. Some people get approved after 4 months, while other can wait 6 months and even longer.

sorry that there are no firm dates anyone can give you for your approval. But it does seem that generally, forms filed at vermont centre usually are processed quicker than csc.

Hang in there! it won't be long until you are together again! (F)

AWW thanks sweetie!!

I remember when he came to see me and it was Valentines. He never had a Prom so I made our home in the living room like a prom LOL

I made a disco ball out of foil and those HUGE styrofoam balls and had Songs from his senior year playing..We had gone out to eat at this amazing restaurant and my son and his girl were there LOL..Kai was soooooo green ROFL..He proposed to me and my son and others clapped... I have NEVER had a romantic meal before..SO THIS was like my first time as well.

My ex husbands idea of romance was a candle light dinner at pizza hut (NO I am NOT joking)

P A T H E T I C! LOL

anyway off to bed I go!! I love you all and will be thinking of you tomorrow at workies!

But Im telling you i would be ecstatic if he came home in January even by my daugthers birthday. She wants him to come home by then. Its nice having someone that treats a child that isnt even his like his own. HE always asks how is daughter is doing... this waiting is killing me though....I was so happy when he was in america and i met him and now im never happy...Im sure u can all understand. I can fully understand. Bryan is so great with my son, he is the dad that my son never had. We are so great as a family. We just HAVE to manage, there is no other option. Keep focusing on the day when you can have him back with you, how wonderful your life will be and how all of this will disappear amongst happy memories of the future. Remember this is worth a lifetime of happiness....thats what you are working for. C'mon girl......you can do this!!!!!!!
