@ Dawn: You have my congratulations again. Following you on Facebook as always. :)

Received AP docs in the mail today. Andy went to INFOPass and they made a call about the biometrics appointment. Apparently they HAD scheduled him a new one for 9/30, but a "system glitch" caused it not to be PRINTED! So they are supposed to reschedule it AGAIN. I guess we're looking at another 2-3 week wait. It's so unfair.

So frustrating. Have I mentioned that I hate immigration?

Yes, the AP is a document with your photograph printed on it. The EAD is a plastic card and the GC is another plastic card.

Aubrey: Hope you get your biometrics sorted out soon so you can move on with your EAD.

I had the same question when my 11 year old son got an appointment too. Yes, they do have to go along as well. They have their photos taken and the finger print of their index fingers for each hand, for the AP and for the Green Card (each has a fingerprint printed on it ). Dont worry, they will be fine. They called my son in first and I just asked if I could go in with him as I was his mother and I was there for an appointment as well, which they allowed me to do. We were in there about 10 minutes at the most.

Well, the new biometrics appointment letter finally arrived... it's set for 10/28. Thanks to their screw-up (e.g., not printing the last appointment letter and mailing it to us), they make us wait another month. It's so ridiculous and unfair.

We're going to attempt to walk-in and get it done sooner since it's delaying Andy's EAD. As you might imagine, we pretty badly need him to have work auth by now. I can't seem to find the building hours online anywhere, so I guess we have to drive by to find out. To say that I'm frustrated or irritated by this delay really understates what I feel. Yuck.

In other news... Obama = Nobel Peace prize winner? I like Obama, but I'm really not thinking this was the best choice... I think that bringing hope isn't enough for such a prestigious award. What do you all think?

For what it is worth, the walk in hasn't helped us get EAD faster. We just got a touch on Sept 15 (probably when the file was updated) and that was it.

As far as Obama goes, I think they jumped the gun, but it is another chance to say how much Bush sucked so I think they couldn't pass it up.

NOA 2. Really?

I agree. I mean really I thought you had to have DONE something not just talk about what you want to do.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
