Whereis everybody......

I quit responding since nobody responded to me anymore anyways. :P

I have stopped posting too as it seems my posts are invisible  .....you dont think we have all started doing this do you?

Well, the Senator route is starting to pay off. They called the NBC today with me on the line and were ale to track down the A file to look for the medical. Some staffer back east needs to review it but we might be able to dodge another physical.

@TeeKol: You're definitely not invisible. Sorry if I missed responding at some point, I was pretty busy for a couple weeks and without internet.

@Corinthians: Good to hear you're having some movement on the senator front. It's sad that it takes help to get things done properly. We still haven't gotten a new biometrics appointment for my husband, so our case is stalled. Not cool. You should switch banks if yours is truly that incompetent to allow your wife on. I'm with Wells Fargo and we had no trouble, and always had good service from them. In fact, the local banker the other day gave us a free box of checks just to be nice (they aren't included with our account).

As for the new city, it's about like I figured it'd be. I got a temporary position as a FT photo retoucher, and the commute is hideous. I'm going in early tomorrow to see if it helps with how long it takes to get there (sitting in bumper to bumper sucks), as it's taking 45-60 minutes to get there or back at peak hours. Andy started volunteering at the library answering computer questions and is settling in to making me lunch to take to work and cooking dinners. Just waiting on that elusive EAD...

Sounds like at least you'll be spared an interview. That's good news.

Hi All

I just got my AOS approval thru today. I was sitting here thinking about how far we have all come. This has been some trip. I remember sitting in my bedsit in London in Dec 08, waiting for the US Embassy to send me an interview date. There was a hold up because it is a pain to get police records from Hong Kong.

To this:

arrived USA Apr 29th, Married to my gorgeous wife May 30th, Received EAD 27th Jul, Started work Aug 5th, offered President position in new company from current Boss Sep 25th, received notification of Green Card approval Sep 28th........ What a year...... It was very tough going thru all those emotions, feelings of elation for the future coupled with feelings of boredom and sadness whilst waiting for other entities to be incharge of your life. We all understand why we have to go thru this, but it doesn't make it any easier......

I think we should all feel exceptionally proud of what we have been thru and hold our heads up high... Good luck to everyone for the future and take each day as it comes. If you have problems or worries, just remember that you have had to go thru on of the toughest emotional trips ever to get to where you are now.............

And finally, Thank you to each and everyone of you for writing on this website to keep us all full of hope, help with questions and support those who are having difficulties. This has been a lifeline to me when I was on my own in London.........

Thanks

Congrats Shannon & Nick!

Still nothing here. It's unnerving to say the least. Thursday is 3 weeks since the INFOPass appointment when we requested an new biometrics appointment for Andy. The lady at the appt said that it would take 2-3 weeks to get a new appointment letter, but we haven't seen a touch on the cases since we called USCIS last. So, wondering if they even sent the letter off like they said they would. We don't even HAVE a letter anymore to try a walk-in with, and so we're both very concerned. And as you might imagine, also very worried about this further delay with him getting an EAD. I am a wad of stress.

It will be much deserved, for sure.

Andy's AP was approved today (got email notification) and touch on EAD. Guessing that would've been approved too had he gotten his biometrics done. Still no new appointment letter. They of course would not talk to him over the phone about it, so looks like it's another infopass appointment to book. :(
