Congratulations!!! that's fantastic!!

I went for my interview today and not too sure how I got on. They asked myself, husband and son some questions which I am confident we answered ok. The woman took out mine and my sons I-94's from the passport, ticked alot of boxes and said that we would hear within 30 days....I asked if we had been approved and she said that we will hear in 30 days. No-one else seems to have had this response, I am not confident that we got it although my husband says he is. I suppose I will just have to wait and see.

Good luck to all of those awaiting an interview and still keeping fingers crossed and sending best wishes to those who are still struggling to get to their loved ones

Hi Jokalu, great to hear that you are with your loved one and are married !!!! Congratulations!!

I filed AOS and I have 1 child. The Affidavit of support I-864 does allow for you to show that there will also be children being sponsored. Part 3 - Information on the immigrant(s) you are supporting......enter each of the childs names in there on a separate line and fill in the columns. Then on number 10 just below those names you have entered you need to enter the total number of people that are being sponsored so that would be the total of your wife and children.

Then in Part 5 Sponsor's household size, you need to enter the number of people you entered in the box for number 10 above (your wife plus kids). Then continue filling out the all the appropriate things on this form for your wife. Collect all of the evidence to support the Affidavit and keep it with her application which will be the main one. Then, for each of your children you need to file out a separate Affidavit of support but do not need to send in the evidence, they will use the evidence from your wifes application. Dont forget to enter on each application the other children and your wife and count them in the numbers for the total number of immigrants you are sponsoring.

I hope this helps. If you have any problems or questions feel free to contact me.

Best wishes in your new life together

Congratulations! They sure took their time on his EAD/AP, didn't they? I hope you have some luck soon with finding work. Keep us informed, we are rooting for you!

We haven't gotten NOA1 yet, but from looking at the timeline of the other VJ'r who applied for a fee waiver, it still might be okay. Hers took 13 days. USCIS wouldn't help us since it hasn't been 30 days yet (the unhelpful help line). It all makes both of us very nervous.

Otherwise, we are not long away from our move to Seattle and staying busy with stuff related to that.

Aubrey: Hang on in there!!! You are doing so well. It must be very stressful waiting to hear from USCIS and moving, but you know better times are just around the corner. We are thinking of you both.

Thank you everyone! They werent taking their time with it. It was held back because we missed biometrics appt. so we had an extra month of waiting for another appointment, but now that that was done everything is moving smoothly...

Sorry Aubrey.

We just sent our packet out today. No SSN yet, 2 months + after the fact. I hope this isn't a sign of what is to come. After 7+ months for NOA2....I need to see if there is a 6 month AOS club.

Good to see you Jokalu. How's Illinois?

NOA 2. Really?

Oh no Aubrey, so sorry to hear that :( . You must be beside yourself. Have you got any relatives that you could borrow the money from until you have moved and found work? Even if it is a little amount from a few people rather than asking one person for the whole amount. You are both working so very hard, I thought that this one was going to give you a break. Nick and Shannon took some time out to save for their fee, have you thought about doing that? they have only just submitted the AOS. I am sure you can find ways around this, you are both resourceful, and have worked so hard to get to where you are. You are stronger this time as you are both together, there to help each other through. You have managed to go through K1 guys......YOU CAN DO ANYTHING!! (F)

Keep us updated when you can, our thoughts are with you.
