Out of curiousity, how long did it take you guys to get a social security number after you applied? :ot:

It took Johny only two weeks if that, it was fast for him. I dont know if it is because he has and a SSN before, but still fast.

I have not been on here in forever and now have to catch up. Been very busy with school and work and my daughters activities. All of Johny's paperwork has been sent at the end of may and we got our NOA's at the begining of June. His EAP and AP were "touched" again yesterday and his bio appt is next friday. Hopinng soon after that he will be getting his working papers because we could really use the money right about now. I am in the process of slowly trying to buy things for our own place hopefully this fall...anywayz just wanted to give an update and glad everyones process is moving along...

Dawn I am very sorry for what has happened...stay strong u can get through this...

Hi everyone!!

Must confess we haven't gone through all the messages since we've last been on... don't have net yet - just borrowing it for a few mins. Wanted to stop in and say hello!

Ryan's growing sooo fast... turning over and laughing his little heart out all the time!!

I'm working now and we're still saving for AOS so Nick's home with Ryan and the kids full time - which suits us as I have no worries about leaving him with a sitter to work... so all is working out nicely there.

Do have a quick question as we don't have time to do some looking around on here... can someone post the address of the doc in texas that transcribes the vaccinations? We'd really appreciate it!

Hopefully 'see' you all soon!!!! Take care all xxx

Hi there guys!!! good to hear everything is moving along well for you and that Ryan is growing fast :D

I found these details about Dr. Arnold on VJ so pasted it here for you

Dr. L.E. Arnold

4534 Westgate Boulevard, Suite 114

Austin, TX 78745

(512) 444-3131

Just send Dr Arnold a photocopy of your DS3025 and the immunization card from local clinic. The link for the whole convo if you need it is

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...1202&st=225

Hope this all helps you (I personally sent it without as it says if you have a medical in the last 1year connected to K-1 you dont have to worry about getting it transcribed, but its all a matter of choice :D).

Good luck with the AOS.

Unfortunately, I've still heard nothing. No calls or interviews. Andy can't continue working at his position forever, as he was taken on a temporary basis, so all we can do is take the savings and hope that either my job hunt turns better or his is short when it starts after EAD.

Aubrey unfortunately it feels very tedious, and ego deflating to search for a job, let alone a good job, right now. I have a strong resume with V.P., Multi-Unit, Director etc.... and am still just hanging on. I have not had one face to face interview, only 2 phone interviews. I have almost finished 3 different resumes and basically eliminated 23 years of strong background because I am overly tired of being over qualified. I talked with a recruiter friend and she said people are deleting Master's degrees to get a "job" not even a "career". She said what I already knew, people look at my resume and run because they feel I would be making a temporary stop with them only until the next best thing comes. I think when Alexandra's EAD comes she may have a little better luck than I because she is bi-lingual. I know I would appear to be be lucky to have my loved one with me but, imagine my head right now knowing I filed her AOS and financial is a very important part of that. Chin up...

Yes, I imagine that many people around VJ are experiencing concerns with the financial support documents and their visas, AOS, etc. Thankfully I have my father co-sponsoring again. It sounds like you might need one yourself? I'd be lying if I said that it wasn't stressful, but I can't do anymore than I'm doing. Other than continuing to work PT and search for jobs, my only other "options" are to pick up and move somewhere in hopes that being nearby will make me look better on paper to get an interview, or to apply for less-than-great grad schools (since all the deadlines are long past). Both have crossed my mind, but there's just too much going on right now for me to seriously consider those options.

I am definitely not having your over-qualified problem, but I understand that can be difficult. I'm sorry you're going through it. I am sorely underqualified, as nobody wants to take on a recent grad right now in my field. It is a steep learning curve for the first couple of years, since there's stuff you just can't learn in school setting (interacting with clients, printers, estimating production costs, etc). The fact that I've had other professional work experience (teaching) is basically irrelevant to most people, despite the fact that it involves a billion phone calls, negotiating, presenting, and a lot of the exact same skills. It sucks to be dismissed as a newbie when I'm not the typical grad. Then again, I'm sure it sucks to be dismissed as someone making a temporary stop in your case.

Annnyways, I'm trying really hard not to dwell on it and was merely responding to a question posted here. I'm excited that my man will finally be with me in a few weeks, and there's a lot still to plan. His nerves are getting to him, so I'm trying to focus my emotional energy on that stuff right now and make the best out of what we've got.

I hope everyone's having a lovely summer with your new spouse. I know it's been really hot in a lot of places, but it's been just lovely weather up here in Idaho for a few weeks now. I hope it holds out a few more weeks so Andy can enjoy it too, since it's been cold and rainy there in Germany.

Hm... well I'm starting to hear the crickets chirp in our thread. :dead: This week has been a whirlwind with trying to coordinate his family, mine, and our plans for a wedding.

Thought I'd let everyone know that the wedding is set: July 16 at the Las Vegas Hilton wedding chapel (one week after Andy's POE).
