might have a better job..fingers CROSSED!!

how is all???

mohammedwalks doing okay..stressed LOL

Good to hear, Meri. I hope it's working out for you. Keep us in the loop. :)

Not much different here, except a few headaches. Andy's last work day will be the 29th, and after discovering the miles we have put together I wanted to use them for a discount on his airfare (30K miles = $300 off). But that's it's own headache, as Delta/NWA is giving me such terrible customer care in trying to transfer the miles to one place. So until I get that figured out, I can't book a ticket.

The only two things I've heard in the job arena are a rebuff from a staffing agency (I'm not "local" enough) and notice that their e-mail system blocked my application attachments and to mail it to them. I remember this feeling well; the waiting and applying and feeling discouraged. Somehow it never gets any easier.

I asked my folks to keep an eye out for freelance opportunities for me, and I'm asking you guys for the same. If you know anyone that needs a logo, letterhead, a flyer, poster, newsletter, small business website, etc., I'd appreciate it if you sent them my way. I'll give my full attention and an ultra-cheap rate in return for my getting some additional experience under my belt. I can always send the print job to their local print/copy shop.

It's so good to see you all getting through your AOS process swiftly. I've been surprised how soon some of the EAD's are going through. A few months ago everyone was seeing 90 days. Now I'm regularly seeing 40-60 days. I wonder if USCIS is getting more efficient or if they're just seeing fewer applications.

Really hope you manage to get Delta/NWA kicked into touch so you can get the ticket booked.

I will speak to my Uncle to see if he needs any work doing and will surely push him your way if he does.

Aubrey, I'm not sure what kind of design you do but have you considered opening an Etsy shop? I know there are a few people on there who do wedding invitations, save the dates, graduation party invitations, etc. for like $15 a pop and just email the file to the customer. Or you could have them printed and charge more.

Just an idea! I hope you find a job soon.

Why dont you take your job hunting frustrations out on the Airlines to get your miles transferred? Then you manage to get rid of the stress and get your flight sorted at the same time

We will definitely keep you in mind if we hear anyone needing any design work. Keep plugging away, with all the work you are putting in something will soon turn up.

Well i have thought long and hard before deciding to post in here, as i know that it should only be good news...

I was just going to keep posting as if i was in the US, but i am moving back to the UK on the 23rd June, but i will keep checking in to see how you are all doing with your applications.

Unfortunately i am a victim of having a long distance relationship, and despite dating Rob for 2years i obviously didn't really know him at all.

Since i moved over in Feb and started living with Rob full-time it became apparent that Rob has a severe alcohol & drug problem, this has turned up a criminal record, and worse, that i again had no idea existed...so I am heading home as this is a situation i cannot put myself or my unborn daughter in any longer.

I want to wish everyone all the luck in the world, i have made some great friends here in the July '08 thread and wish everyone all the best.

Hey Dawn, its MARM from the 2009 UK Interview thread. So sorry that it turned out this way, but its best for the long run and I am very happy that you made the right choice. You are a brave and strong woman, and you must be, especially for your unborn daughter. And now was the time to leave, not later, as that would have caused further problems, as you know very well. Good luck with everything, take care of yourself and your baby, you deserve nothing less than the utmost care and love! :luv:

Thank you all for your warm wishes. I will make sure i stop by to keep a check on all your progresses and share in your good news.

At the moment i just feel so stupid that i didn't see what he was really like before i gave up everything and came over here, but that will go with time.

I'm just gonna concentrate on me and the little one and we will get through all this.

You are all really great people and it has been a privilege to know you all. xx
