Question for you guys: How did you deal with your non-USC's finances? Andy and I are trying to figure out how best to access his money and close his account once he's in the U.S., but coming up short on ideas. His current bank does not even offer online banking...

Does he have a credit card that draws money directly out of his bank account? These can be used in an ATM, although i had to advise the bank that i would be in the US or they would have frozen the card for security.

I transferred money to my account here before i left the UK.

What service did you use for the transfer?

Page 3 guys!! Too much smooching, not enough VJing. :jest:

That made me laugh. We're just swamped with wedding plans, moving plans, school plans and job plans so not alot of VJ. Strangely, I did meet a person in my neighborhood who is doing a K1 for his fiancee from France (when we were out walking last night) ...told him about VJ. Too bad there isn't some sort of finders fee. Even more strange was that his fiancee knows people my fiancee knows in Geneve. It is strange how small the world is...

Mohammedwalks: we haven't started any AOS stuff yet; but we'll keep in touch. Good to here things are working out for you.

Aubrey: good luck with the job search...there's always graduate school. :bonk:

Hey Juliet (you aren't forgotten).

NOA 2. Really?

Hey Juliet (you aren't forgotten).

Good! Then my work here is done. :star:

Grad school is the backup plan, but still doesn't help with the experience issue. Everyone's looking for 2-4 years experience, so all I can do is relate my semester at a student magazine and my teaching computer apps and cross my fingers. It's not good. And applications for grad school for the fall are long past due; the good schools in my field don't budge their deadlines, and are all in feb or march. So I'll apply if I'm still jobless in December, it's always been the backup plan, but don't know how I'm going to survive financially if that's the case. =/

Mohammedwalks: Still waiting for my reunion. Glad everything is going so well for you, especially after your scare.

Yeah ! I'm so happy for the EAD, now I can wait for the GC patiently, I am able to drive, to work and travel so everything is great !

Hope that you guys will be together soon. It might be hard to have the visa in hand and not be able to be together cuz' of money stuff, that sucks :(

I transferred money to my account here before i left the UK.

What service did you use for the transfer?

I used a company called HiFx, they gave me the best rates ans reimurse you if you get any US bank charges for transferring money into the account. From sending them the money i had the $'s in my account within 2days.

But as Cham said there is always Paypal!

Mohammedwalks...so glad that you are reunited and having such a fantastic time x

Nothing needs to be notarized for AOS.

We sent:

-Payment in the amount of $1010

I-485- Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status

-I-485 form

-Copy of Sebastian's U.K. birth certificate

-Copy of Sebastian's passport page with nonimmigrant visa

-Two 2” x 2” passport photographs

-DS3025 vaccination supplement from UK interview (NOTE: We just didn't bother with transcribing the results. If we get an RFE, oh well).

-G-325A form

-Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, completed by Terri

-Copy of Terri's U.S. birth certificate

-Copy of tax transcripts for 2007, 2006, 2005 for sponsor Terri

-Letter of explanation for not meeting income requirements

-Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, completed by joint sponsor

-Copy of joint sponsor's U.S. birth certificate

-Copy of tax transcripts for 2007, 2006, 2005 for joint sponsor (We didn't send 2008 since I didn't work at all and the joint sponsor hadn't filed her taxes yet. We filed AOS before April 17th, but won't be surprised if we get an RFE for that either).

-Copy of letter from joint sponsor's employer

-Copies of joint sponsor's earning statements from 7/26/2008 to 2/19/2008

-Copy of I-797 Notice of Action (I-129F fiancé petition approval notice)

We didn't bother with AP.

Hope all of you are doing well! Things are pretty great here. I have a fantastic nursing internship this summer and Sebastian had an interview the other day and he's pretty confident he got the job. Our EAD came in not too long ago and we're just waiting on the green card approval. With any luck, he'll be employed soon and we can live happily ever after. haha. It's been 3 long months of searching, so keep your fingers crossed!
