Hello again (posts galore from me this week) - just to make sure, do I need to include my birth cert in the AOS package? I don't think so but Jeremy thinks that he read it somewhere that we need to include the USC's birth cert that is no older than 6 mos...

I'm not sure, but it should say in the guides.

But, your birth certificate does not expire, so it will never matter how old it is.

Hey Kiristen,

Yeah the BC is just for the french embassy and you are right it has to be issued within the last 6 months.

BC has to be included for USC for the affidavit of support only, no time restrictions on it's issue as the AOS application is dealt with by USCIS not the Embassies.

Cool. cool. One other thing - Jeremy and I have just discovered the whole I693 civil surgeon transcription of records blah blah. So he has to get DS3025 transcribed to the I693 by a civil surgeon? We just started to explore this last night. We found a civil surgeon in San Francisco that does it for $40. Just want to make sure that we bring everything. The civil surgeon will need the DS3025 and his chest xray. Anything else?

You are lucky to find one who will do it without the physical. Here they wanted 250-300 dollars because they wouldn't do it without the physical, and I know all I needed for Alexandra was the the vaccines transcribed to the I693. The physical is not necessary if it has been done within a year. So take the vaccination records(DS3025), and I really cant think he will need anything else. I sent mine off to Texas to Dr. Arnold who did it for 30.00 and all I sent was the DS3025 and a couple of signed first pages of the I693 so they could fill out the forms and seal the envelope. I guess they could tell she had her physical by the date on the DS3025.

You wouldn't need to take the x-ray to the CS to have DS3025 transcribed onto I-693. Just the DS3025. I sent mine off to Dr Arnold in Texas too, only cost $30.

There have been a few people approved AOS with only sending in the DS3025 rather than doing the I-693, although there is always a chance of a RFE!.

Jeremy went today and got it done. Only problem - the French doctor forgot to fill out a date on one of the vaccinations so Jeremy had to pay $85 to get it done again. I don't think that he cares though. He just wants to send the paperwork out ASAP. On our way :)

Page 3 guys!! Too much smooching, not enough VJing. :jest:

Quick update before I crash for the night.

Still job hunting, and heard nothing so far. 15 apps, 1 cold email, and 1 staffing firm app later. More cold emails and apps to come. Looking and writing cover letters, etc is time consuming, and it's slim-pickings out there. A mere sampling of crazy places I've applied to: Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Iola Wisconsin, Framingham Massachusetts, and New York. I must be out of my mind on the last one. I haven't been insane enough yet to apply for anything in the vicinity of Texas and my mother yet, though.

Andy's going to finish out the month at his job and is going to figure out when his last day will be. It depends on when his folks can pick him up with his stuff, because it's too much to carry back on the train. We'll figure that out this weekend or Monday, depending on what they say, and then sometime next week book a ticket. Looks like a mid-July flight; a bit later than we hoped. I guess we'll get married at the end of July or beginning of August. Continuing to wait makes me feel like I'm losing my mind a little. I guess that explains New York.

Keep going Aubrey, you sound as though you are trying really hard to sort this, I am sure you will get some reponses soon (you have covered a large area, so bound to). Once you and Andy make dates for moving you will have something concrete to work towards and I think this will make things more easier than having a 'rough idea'. Looking at your signature a mid-July flight isnt far from your original plan, so you are both doing well in some very difficult circumstances.

We look forward to the countdown appearing on your signature to when he flies out to you after the weekend!

Does he have a credit card that draws money directly out of his bank account? These can be used in an ATM, although i had to advise the bank that i would be in the US or they would have frozen the card for security.

I transferred money to my account here before i left the UK.
