I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you find a job soon, Aubrey!

Have a wonderful wedding day, Kristen! I can't wait to see your pictures :).

Married life is pretty wonderful but it's definitely an adjustment. I'm not used to having zero time to myself and the whole quest for more independence thing kicks in every once in a while with Sebastian not being able to drive, work, etc. His EAD was approved last week but he's having a really hard time finding a job. But we're toughing it out!

Hope everything is well with you all!

Well, just remember that you don't have to lose yourself to become someone's wife. It's OK to take some time for yourself. I think it actually makes you appreciate the time you two have together.

Wow, the EAD average time is down to 60 days. I'm amazed. That's definitely good news, and I hope the trend continues!

Thanks for your well-wishes everyone!

I do have one question about AP. When you apply for AP is it good for only one exit/entry? do you have to specify a trip? does it make the EAD/AOS process slower? I thought that you could get a "standing AP" - good for use at any time. And I didn't think that it had any bearing on the AOS process but Jeremy thinks differently. Can you guys shed some light??

The AP and EAP are processed seperately to the AOS as far as my knowledge goes, even though they are all sent in as one. And those are usually approved in a shorter time then the AOS itself. A friend of mine on here got accepted after 2 months for both the EAP and AP. About a month after that their greencard was in processing. I have no idea if it is a one time trip or it is a "standing AP" but im sure someone else here knows the answer to that question.

You can request a multi entry on the AP, and no you do not have to give dates/trips. When you send it in you will also need a covering letter stating the reason why you would like to have AP and that you have no specific travel plans at this time. I have a copy of the letter i sent if it would help?

AP is dealt with by a different office as is EAD to AOS so it has no bearing on any of them, it definately doesn't slow it down.

Dawn...thanks again for all of your help...how are you tracking your info now?

No worries, always happy to help

When you get your NOA's for the AOS you can enter the case numbers on your account @ www.egov.uscis.gov, then track them the same as with the K1.

I found that my cases didn't appear online until i had completed the biometrics.

Just for information, when you get the biometrics appointment letter you can normally go earlier as they allow walk-ins! Hopefully it speeds up the process for you.

Booo!!! so of course the people at the SSA office are rude and incompetent. Jeremy went this morning to get a ssn and he was told that he needed an EAD to get a ssn. He told her that he didn't and showed proof of that but she refused to give him a ssn. After arguing with her for awhile he said forget it and said that he'd go to another office. So that's where he is now. I told him to ask to speak with a supervisor if he gets the same BS again. grrrr. maybe i'll have to take a half day next week to yell at people :P awesomeness!

any advice on what we should do if he is refused again today?

No advice except continue on trying. I made the mistake and did not get Alexandra her's in time and so many things want a SS# to add the person to various accounts etc... So now I am in the position to wait for her EAD to be able to get it. I guess the only positive is it will have her married name, no second trip needed.

This happens to a lot of people. It's just ignorance.

Print the page from the SSA website (https://secure.ssa.gov/apps10/poms.nsf/lnx/0100203500) and highlight the sections she's talking about in that post. That should remedy the problem, and if not ask for a supervisor and show it to them.

Loved your wedding dress. Congratulations to you both. :)

He went to the other office and apparently someone at USCIS put him in the system as K4 instead of K1... But obviously they saw his K1 visa today in his pasport so SSA said they need to contact USCIS to fix it and then they'll issue the ssn or deny it, which I can't see happening but hey you never know! They said he should get an answer/ssn in 4 weeks tops. I guess it'll work out...

Hello again (posts galore from me this week) - just to make sure, do I need to include my birth cert in the AOS package? I don't think so but Jeremy thinks that he read it somewhere that we need to include the USC's birth cert that is no older than 6 mos...
