hi everyone! im just wondering has any one of you start collecting police certificates? coz i need to get like 3 police certificates from 3 countries(philippines, israel and canada).the israel certificate should be mailed directly by the israel embassy to US consulate in montreal and not to me. should i start and get one now? but i havent got papers yet to montreal consulate and i doubt if they will keep that piece of paper when they dont see where to file it...

another thing is about the medical examinations.coz i heard regarding the vaccines..i dont know what vaccines i had in the past..what should i do?

Has anyone thought about wedding dates? My kids are off from school for spring break at the end of March, so we were thinking of having a wedding in Florida at that time. Is it presumptuous to think that he could be here by then?? He has a condo there, so we wouldnt have to cancel hotels or anything- just a rental car. Let me know!

Hopefully we can have a wedding March 28th!

Hi MarcusKelli

My fiance is near Tampa, Florida and that is where we are going to live. We looked at dates in March, Spring break time, but found that the prices were cranked right up. Hotels for guests and cost of wedding was nearly double that of any other time.

We have booked for May 30th  , as that is when my kids are off shool.

I can't wait to be there.

Hope this helps.

Do you really think the process will be done by then? i would love to have my wedding on may 25, our anniversary n my timeline is very similar to yours...not to mention UK also. how exciting! i didnt think the process would be done by then.

I would like to think so. From filing to May 30th is a little over 10 months. I will be very disappointed if it does take that long. I know it was a gamble, but when we booked it we didn't realise the red tape that we had to go thru.

I am hoping that the process will be done by Feb 09. When the application for the K-1 was sent in, we put all the paperwork in it that proved we have booked a wedding on that date. Hopefully they will look at that.

If it does carry on and it looks like it is going to be too close for comfort, then we will have to have a rethink. The invitations wont be sent out until we know for definate, eventhough everyone knows about it.

Its a waiting game but my misses is worth waiting for.

Lets see how we all progress.

Good luck to everyone for a speedy process. My fingers are crossed fior us all.

Marcus owns a condo in St. Petersberg, so we dont need to worry about hotels so much- and were just doing a small ceremony on the beach- no big elaborate deal- no invites ect. So It wouldnt be a big deal to move if we needed too. I just hope he is here by then :)

BTW~ for all of you from England- where abouts? Marcus is in Manchester. I am going to visit for 6 weeks! YEAH!!!

I don't think it's too presumptuous to think you could have your wedding in May. Unless something goes wrong, most of us should be done by January or February. My SO will be on a plane within a few weeks of visa approval. We don't want to wait to be together. If you get approved in January, are you willing to wait another couple months to bring your SOs here? Your K1 is only good for 90 days- you have to get married within that time period in order to adjust status.

I'm not booking anything until the visa is in his hands, but I'm hoping for Spring Break as a target wedding time.

So he knows about this July filer thread? I think Andy likes to avoid thinking about all the bad stuff with this process, so he stopped reading VJ and only looks when I mention it. You can always send me a PM with your wedding dress idea...

Sorry it took days to reply! Sebastian and I actually share this account but he's never once posted and only occasionally spies on my posts and says, "Awww! How cute are you for being so involved?!" haha. I think it makes him sad to read about other people's struggles, too, so he just avoids it. As for the wedding dress, I'll just post a picture of my $3,000 dream dress that I'll never be able to afford or justify. I absolutely love the 50's tea length dresses. Keep the dresses/wedding ideas coming everyone!

We met because I was studying at Oxford and that's where he graduated from, so it's where we spent the majority of our time and the place we call our little home :). It's so beautiful there! He lives in London now. I surprised him and booked a flight out for New Year's. I'm SO excited!!! You must be too!

I think that my fiance will be here in May/June. He has to give his job 3 months notice. 3 months! Some random French law...I don't get it. So I'm thinking visa will be in hand by February/March and he'll arrive May/June. It's a long time but I'm trying to save $$$ before his arrival. I miss him sooo much though. We're planning our Thanksgiving trip so that's lifted my spirits. We're going to spend the week in DC and NYC.

Cham - Sorry it's been rough for you lately. I was there a week or 2 ago. It'll get better. Ahhh this waiting.

Yeah the 90 days starts once your fiance arrives in the US.

Back to work...

Yep, correct. I was asking if those with May weddings minded their SO's staying out of the US for extra time. I do. I want Andy back here ASAP. I don't want to wait around an extra month or two because I booked something later than we needed. Maybe for others the big day is more important. I don't know, that's why I'm asking.
