Wow all of this talk about all this AOS stuff is freaking me out all over again....blah

I found a civil surgeon in my area...hope it doesnt cost an arm and a leg for us. Also umm is the EAD cost added to the 1010 dollars or is it all rolled into one?

One last question even though we have a month or whatever before we get to these steps but they need the flu and pnemonia shots? what shots exactly do they need? We as amercians arent even required to have them. I never get the flu shot and I work in the hosptial. do they need all of them that are on the list?

PB&Jam- You just need the passport photos of the UK beneficiary. The London embassy photo booths but Sebastian says he's not sure how much they cost, or if they even work. Any place that does passport photos can make them 2" x 2".

ErinMeetsJohnny- The $1010 is the total cost of the AOS + EAD so long as you file for them at the same time. The flu and pneumonia shots are only required if you're over a certain age (I forget the exact number, I want to say it's over 65?).

really? I read it on the London embassy page that the usc needs them (and to be taken within 6 months) so that they can see if its the same person on them as in the photos of the usc n ukc together. (I sent them in with my I-129f....over 6 months ago tho). If not, i wont worry about it!

my s.o. says there's a shop that does them next to the embassy in london so he'll swing by there saturday.

thanks for ur help guys!

Aubrey...thanks so much too!! xx

USCIS Update:

The man on the phone said it's all up to the discretion of the person reviewing our file. He said lately many people have been asked to require the I863 and many have not. Same with the tuberculosis test. He said not to mail anything at all in unless we get a request for it, as it will likely never make it with our case.

So we'll wait and see!

Thanks for ringing and finding out Terri :) I like you am getting the I693 from Dr Arnold as a standby in case we get an RFE, I figured for $30 it was easier to have it all ready. Its a pity USCIS can't make up its mind on how the rules apply to people who have had their medicals overseas.

I think it is cool you guys are already into your AOS...I am generally on top of these things but have been preparing for the wedding and such. We obviously waited awhile after she arrived to marry. I need to have my ducks in a row on the AOS stuff so immediately following the wedding I will have time to concentrate on this stuff. I was so ####### about my K1 paperwork and everything went so smoothly at the embassy they passed it through the window to me before we started the interview and never ask for anything additional that we brought. So I need to spend time on this and hope it goes as well.

I saw an earlier post about info to take to the interview, and with reagards to tax returns I also brought three years. It would stink to not have enough info, if we brought all we had I figured there was nothing else to ask for. The other thing that appears to differ from embassy to embassy is if both parties need to be there. It is becoming more increasingly important in South America and they are sending some folks away telling them to come back when their SO can be there.

One question for you that have already started processing your SS#...at this point if you aren't married you get a card that has red letters on it saying some thing to the effect of "only authorized to work". But when your name changes after your wedding you will have to file for another card...correct? Also, I have only glanced at the AOS requirements and it apppears to be a very similar process again, financial support and so on. I have 17 days until the wedding and only a couple more details like my Publix cake, and a couple of other little things. So i think it is time to at least start to compile info on the AOS. My least 3 years tax returns were excellent so I had no problem financially proving anything, but as I told you guys the end of January was the end of work for me so this may be a little tricky now. I am trying to pick up some subcontracting work and am still above their poverty guidlines and hoping it hangs through this process.....ugh!!!!

Hope that's helpful!

2008 taxes don't have to be filed until April 17th, so 2007, 2006 and 2005 are sufficient. I won't be filing at all this year since I haven't worked and my cosponsor hasn't filed her 2008 taxes yet, so that's the most current information. That's my understanding, at least!

Just been going through all the paperwork to find that the London Embassy kept Rob's original & copy 2007 tax transcripts...arghh.

Will have to get him to get another copy!

I filed Rob's 2008 taxes last week so will include them to be on the safe side.

Are they mainly looking at the last years taxes for the affidavit? Unsure if i should get a co-sponsor again as his 2006 taxes were #######?!

I received my police certificate back within the 10days think it only took 7days!

You will be fine holding off on pkt3 for a few weeks, it hasn't been that long since you received it. I know of people that received it and didn't send it back for 6weeks.

Thats a relief thanks! OK, so if you guys can remember that far back to what you sent your SO for the interview, I am sending him:

evidence:

about 6 or so IM chats with varying dates, (is that enough?)

cell phone records of our texts for every month since August,

a couple things that say "call ended" on our IM thing (since my call logs werent saved on yahoo for some reason, tho i checked "save history". DOH!), boarding passes from both our visits,

about 10 pictures of us together (some from his 2nd visit here and some from my 2nd visit there)

receipts of purchases I made in England.

Plus he will include cards I sent him for bday, christmas, Valentine's. (I dont want to send the ones he got me...dont want to lose them). a couple "congrats on your engagement" cards we received from ppl.

Is this enough??

Copy of my passport and birth certificate.

New letters of intent

copy of noa2

2 new passport-style photos of me. (he is getting 8 of himself to be safe!)

Affidavit of support, tax transcripts for 2006-2008 and W2s for those years.

Letter from my employer. (I made 24k last year, is this good enough or should i send in bank letter to be really safe?)

paycheck stubs

then he is doing his forms, police records, letter of intent, checklist, passport photos (8!), his birth certificate, his medical, passport.

Ok, sound ok??? Anything else? I sure appreciate it! thanks!

one more Q he had. the photos he needs (2x2inch US size). He said UK size is different. (35mm by 45 mm) Is the latter size ok?

Looks like you have more than enough evidence, although London didn't even look at mine!

The USC does not need to send passport pics, but the beneficiary must have the 2x2 size. The Boots chemist up on Oxford street (5 mins from Embassy) does them. He will only need 2, although they are cheaper than getting them done here so best if he has more ready for AOS.

You made over the poverty level required so bank letter won't be necessary. We had to give 2007 taxes which showed Rob made more than enough but then they wanted 2006 & 2005. His 2006 were bad so we had to give co-sponsors affidavit also.

Hope the printer doesn't turn up broken!!
