It'll be nice when we all can relax a little. I think it is gonna be a while though.

Well what's the averages for anything going wrong at the AOS stage? Or do I just have a false sense of security?

Doesn't seem like too much goes wrong if you stay on top of it.

Biggest problems I see have to do with run-around with the medical/vaccination stuff, the occasional sponsor/co-sponsor issue, and the few folks with bad enough luck to require an interview. Just lots of paperwork... fun!

We should all get a certificate to hang on the wall when we finish the process. So and so and their spouse survived USCIS (twice or more times) and the State Department. Your ability to deal with bureaucracy is to be comended...

Did you enter at JFK? It sounds like the temporary EAD stamp, although it's authorized for more than 90 days. Interesting...

Yeah I entered at JFK. But I thought that they didn't put this stamp anymore ?

They still give the stamp. Sebastian got one too. The controversy is whether or not employers will take it seriously, since the new I-9 form (I think?) requires a work authorization card that has a photo ID on it. Or something like that.

To be honest, the whole thing confused us quite a bit and we just decided it'd be easier for him to not look for serious work until the actual EAD arrives.

Oh ok, that makes sense. What about if I want to open my own business ?
