For those of you who had your DS vaccination form transferred to the I693 (how pointless is that, seriously?), did anyone try to tell you your vaccinations were incomplete? I know all of us London embassy people went to the same place and likely have the same form.

Sebastian and I went into the civil surgeon's yesterday and even though it says "Series completed" next to his tetanus shots (as well as all other relevant shots), they tried to tell him he had to repeat the whole tetanus series. The receptionist was beyond nasty to us and although I'm usually an overly polite customer, she was being so demeaning that I interrupted her in mid-sentence, told her we'd take our business elsewhere, and slammed the door. This delays AOS yet another week while we wait for an appointment at the one other civil surgeon around here. Don't get me wrong, we're exceptionally grateful that we're finally together and married- but with the economy being so horrible it would be nice if he could start looking for serious work.

If this is better suited in an AOS thread, I'll move it but I know a few of you were talking about vaccination stuff last week.

You'd better not disappear on us! I think you posted in just the right place. Sorry to hear you're having issues with this, although I've definitely seen similar issues with vaccination transfers. Just one more bit of stupidity in this process.

Only snag was they need my father's birth certificate or passport faxed to them to prove he's a citizen for the co-sponsor affidavit.

So how's it looking Aubrey?

My dad called me to tell me he'd faxed it over today. So it's taken care of, thankfully (and much to my surprise, tbh).

In other news, Andy had a job interview yesterday. I hope third time's the charm... this waiting and being poor ####### is so old it's growing mold. Next month I'm taking a second trip to Seattle to have a bunch of professionals look at my portfolio. I've been told some folks get job offers or leads at this event, but regardless it's at least a chance to see how hire-able I'm going to look. I'm so nervous trying to get my ####### together! If you want to look at my unfinished portfolio: aubreymiller.net (shameless self-promotion  ).

I agree with Aubrey. Let' stick together :) It's helpful for me to see your AOS questions. I won't start that until late June but I still like to see your comments and questions.

Aubrey, I looked at your website and your work looks very similar to what the designers at my job produce. We don't have any openings now but if I hear something I'll let you know. Our designers are always swamped with work. I'm not sure if you're ok with relocating for a job but we have offices all over the country. Have you tried looking at really big companies with internal graphics departments? The designers here are always crazy busy but I think they enjoy what they do and they have opportunities to work with really well-known companies. I'm pretty sure that they are fairly compensated. I'll keep you posted.

Cool, you are awesome! And yeah, I already know I have to move for work. As long as I don't end up back in Texas, I'll pretty much move where ever for the right job. I've moved cross-country once, I can do it again. Poor Andy will probably be moving twice in one year. :P

You know what ? I was supposed to have my appointment today at 2:30. The doctor is sick (yeah it happens), so I have to reschedule... That sucks !

Oh don't worry- we're not going anywhere! I like the idea of doing AOS in here too.

I think we'll have the doctor fill out the I693 even though there's conflicting information. It's better to have too much than too little and it's only going to cost an extra $110 ($80 for the forms and $30 for the TB test). We'd consider mailing it to Dr. Arnold but we'd rather just pay a little more and get it over with so we can file ASAP.

If anyone wants to do the facebook thing, I'll send a PM as well!

We'd consider mailing it to Dr. Arnold but we'd rather just pay a little more and get it over with so we can file ASAP.

If anyone wants to do the facebook thing, I'll send a PM as well!

I really like the idea of doing AOS on here too, makes me feel more secure!

We're still waiting for Rob's tax return so we can file AOS, just want to get it going!

Only 5weeks left till the wedding ceremony, getting so excited...until i see the large to-do list that i still need to sort!!lol

I'm also on Facebook...

What finally happened with your ssn? Or did you tell us and I missed it?! :bonk:

I had a PM from 'I Quit' and he told me what i needed to do as he works in SS. It worked because i got a call last week telling me they've issued a SSN. The guy that called also said he was speaking to the offices that has refused me to tell them that K1's are able to get SSN.
