All of you starting AOS and having to have your innocumations transcribed onto the I-693 by a civil surgeon do NOT pay more than $30.

There is a Dr LE Arnold in Austin TX who will do it for $30 and you can just post all your paperwork and get the I-693 sent back!!! I was quoted $120 here in NC!!! Have more info if anyone wants it??

I know this perhaps isn't the best place, but soon all of us will be going through AOS and if we can save a few $'s!!!!

Several people seem to have managed AoS by only sending a copy of the vaccine form that they were given at the medical. You only need to submit the I-693 at the interview if it is requested or send it in if a RFE is received.I have been waiting since Tuesday for Dr Arnolds office to ring me back so I plan to send my AoS next week with a copy of the vaccine form to get the process going as the vaccine form is not required for the EAD and AP to be processed. I will get the I-693a from Dr Arnold anyway in case they ask for it. The three CS in Dallas that I rang all quoted $120 just to see me, that didn't include the form filling :(

Wonderful photos Shannon and Nick, looks like a great day :)

I didn't receive my SSN card yet, so maybe I will have some trouble :( I might receive it in 2 weeks...

I couldn't go and ask for my SSN # before to get married cuz' I left to Vegas just 1 week after I entered the US so my informations were not in the system yet...

I am in the same boat as you Juliette, as we went to Colorado a week after I arrived. I don't think we will have any problems as the offices we both went to understood the K1 regulations and accepted our applications. The K1 in itself becomes invalid as soon as you enter the country, it is the I-94 that you receive at that point which is the elegibility to register for an SS card as long as you do so within 76 days of entry (this is to allow the 2 weeks for its issue to still fall within the 90 days the I-94 is valid for). Marriage does not invalidate the I-94, though there are plenty of threads on the boards that suggest that a lot of the people who work in SS admin think that it does as others have had problems.

It is standard for them to send it in the post and takes up to two weeks so you should be fine.

I went into the SSN office this morning in Manassas and had no problems...they say it ought to be here in a week. We were also able to open a new account at Bank of America without any trouble.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

It's the same thing here (SLC), nobody want to talk to you about May when it is only March and we haven't seen any houses that are worth buying yet.

NOA 2. Really?

My fiance got a letter that he needs to prove he can support himself, he really doesnt have a lot of money b/cos he has been paying off debts since we got engaged. He has a full time job but no real savings. No job lined up here in US. He is stressed and thinks we wont get approved on interview. (no, its not scheduled yet).

I do have savings and money to support us, but he cant prove that he does himself. How much money does he need??

Aubrey...I know you are having a difficult time with Andy and his job situation. Ugh. How is that working out?

Anybody have any suggestions??? He will NOT be a burden on US, but dont know what to do or what to tell my fiance. He thinks its hopeless and we may have to forget out getting married. Waaaaaaah! :crying: Help!?
