I noticed you figured out how to fill in your timeline - good job! You can also add your touch under the Comments section. Also, you can adjust your member profile (it shows on the left) with some info. It's under My Controls -> Edit Profile Information.

Welcome to our little group of July filers. Please feel free to join me and the rest in blabbing about your SO's job plans, your wedding plans, and your disgust with the long wait! I think you'll find we're a friendly bunch.

Hello everyone. Hope everyone is doing well. I have a question for anyone who has traveled during the paperwork process. We have received our NOA1 and are patiently (not really) awaiting our NOA2. Alan would like to come over for about 3 or 4 weeks around the holidays this year, but we are not sure if this is possible. We have tried e-mailing the Sydney consulate because they are the only people who e-mail us back, but we havent got a real direct answer. Has anyone traveled during this process? He will be coming from Australia to Florida. Can we do this during this process or do we have to wait?

No clue on the travel, I think if you're from a visa waiver country it isn't a big deal. Now if you have to apply for a tourist or other visa after K1 is filed...good luck getting in.

1 month since NOA1 3.5 to go.

NOA 2. Really?

Corinthians is right -- traveling on the VWP is no problem during K1. There are plenty of people here on the forums who have done it multiple times. The only thing it be careful with is for the non-US citizen to carry proof of ties to his/her home country on the travels to ensure entry. This would be some things like proof of employment, a lease, bank statements to show you have funds to support yourself, etc. Long stays seem to cause more trouble than short stays, also.

Just as a heads up, it's not always no problem--unfortunately, there are some posters have had their SO turned away at the border (and I'm currently incessantly worrying that that will happen to us in October!). Be sure your SO brings lots of evidence of "strong ties" to his home country (as said above, leases, letters from work that you're returning, etc.), and I've read that it also might help to have a copy of the I-129F application as well to show that you all are going the "legal" route. Good luck!!!

Cham: Sorry, I don't know since it's a govt program. You might ask in the main K1 forum this question. I know it depends on where you enter it in your taxes on the 1040...

Madmag12: :time:Here's the link. It helps everyone and will give you an estimate on when to expect your NOA2. You can add your multiple touches under the Comments section (you can look at mine as an example if you like).

Laura and Alan: From reading posts from other vjers, it seems that there is mixed results with entering USA to see fiance while 1-129f is pending. Some have no trouble and some get turned away. As other july filers said, it would pay for him to have evidence on him, that shows that he does plan to return/have ties to his country and of course has a return airline ticket. Alarm bells may ring for the immigration folks/customs if he was coming to stay for 3 months but it is for up to a month only. To us vjers we would think it acceptable for a person to want to spend time with someone around the holidays but at the end of the day, it all depends on the POE person at airport in USA and how fussy they are  Good luck! i hope it all works out alright!

Madmag12: Thats great with the touches :) Like Aubrey said, could you fill in your timeline please ? Are you with California or Vermont service centre?

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend and still trying to remain as patient as one can under the circumstances ;)

I was wondering if anybody started putting their I-134 together yet? I was going to do it right away, but now I'm thinking that maybe I should wait until we know the interview date. Does anybody know how long I-134 is good for? I've been searching for that information high and low, but the only reference I found on this Forum or elsewhere is that it shouldn't be older than 1 year. However, this is unofficial info and I don't know if we would run into any problems if all my financial paperwork is dated August and the interview takes place in, say, December. Called USCIS customer service and they said they didn't know the answer because my question was 'too specific'.
