Hey guys, I have a question. Jamie just called the DOS and they said : your case is not in Paris yet, goodbye !

Is it normal ? It left the NVC last wednesday (14th). When I saw the other french like Kiristen and Jeremy, it takes 5 days to go from NVC to Paris...

I begin to lose my mind, so tired of this K1 :(

Juliette I wouldn't worry too much about it. I never called DOS to check on it. I used the DHL trick thingy to figure out when it arrived in Paris. It could be that it is at the embassy but hasn't been logged in to their system yet. That's probably it. I say do the DHL thing to check to see if it has arrived yet. Sometimes they'll say "your hardcopy file hasnt arrived yet" which really means that they haven't processed it yet. The USEM in Paris is pretty fast. I bet you'll get p3 by the end of next week or the beginning of the next.

Can you track your file to see if it is in Paris? They could just be slow with getting it on the system.

You're almost home sweetie.

Thanks for your support :)

I don't know how to track my file...?

Do I have to call NVC and ask for a DHL tracking# ?

These are the instructions cdneh posted in the stuck at nvc thread

DHL. That is how your papers are shipped to the embassy. I kept a close on eye on it once we were at NVC.

You won't know for sure it's your case, and you won't know which tracking number is yours, but if you can see they are sending a package to the country you are interested in you can check with NVC to see if they still have it. Towards they end we rang a lot, but in the first while only if I saw a package headed here.

NVC to Embassy using DHL...

www.dhl.com

You should choose USA for the country if this comes up on your main page (where it is leaving from). After that, on the toolbar at the top, put your mouse over Track and a menu appears. You want track by reference.

For today, in the top box where it says reference I put :

EXP 12 JAN 2009A <---- this should be about one day before the NVC tells you it left.

Below in the "shipment pick up date range" put the day NVC told you it left as start and finish. Sometimes you have to play around a bit with the dates, but I've usually managed to find what works this way.

In both boxes today I put Jan 13 2009.

At the foot of the page you will see a little box marked track with a red arrow, click on that and a list should appear ...there were 3 pages today.

The only trouble I have relates to the day/date thing. I am a day ahead here in NZ, and always getting an error "The date cannot be in the future" Course it can...that's where I am tongue.gif

To find anything shipped on a Monday I put the same date, in my case Jan 12 in all three boxes and that worked to on their Monday, my Tuesday.

hope it helps.

They ship all the cases going to Paris in one shipment so your case is probably in there :) I think you'll be hearing some news this week.
