Just wanted to let everyone know how the interview went: my fiance got her visa!

She was at the interview for 3 hours and stumbled on some of the questions because she was nervous. But now she has visa in hand!

Looks like I will have a happy March.

Well done guys! Its all coming together nicely!!

Congratulations ! It is very exciting to see the july filers getting done 1 by 1. Except for some who still don't have news from USCIS :(

Today I found out that I have to get a new passport cuz' my picture on the one I have is a lil' bit scrached. I will try to get it in emergency cuz' it takes 1 month in France to have a new one !!! You will see that I won't have my passport in time for my interview :bonk:

I had to get an emergency one issued, booked the appt and got it done the same day, cost me £120 tho and I had to go to Wales  to get it!

Oh I know tell me about it!

OK quick poll, As of yet we haven't told the kids when I'm coming home. SO do we :

a Tell them and let them come to the airport with Shannon?

b Tell them, then make em stay at home?

c Not tell them anything and surprise them completely?

Don't hurt anyone when you try to run off the plane and be the first one through customs. I have a mental picture of you running by people and them just flying out of the way. LOL!

I vote for C...I think I am going to do the same thing when Conmar gets here.

Congrats on the approval! And I vote option C, the kids will be overjoyed!

I'm extremely frustrated right now. I emailed the embassy last week to see when they were sending out packet 3. They never responded, even though I had the case # in the subject line. So I called DOS and they told us that packet 3 was sent out on the 14th. Great news, as Sebastian decided to mail it anyways on the 15th.

I emailed the embassy again, on Friday, to see if they'd received it. Forgot it was Martin Luther King Jr Day, plus I forgot to ask them a third question about scheduling the interview around our tentative trip to Spain, so I shot them a third email. Still, no response.

So just now I called DOS to see if packet 3 had been put into their system and they said London doesn't have the hard copy yet- just the electronic file!!! That doesn't make any sense at all, since don't they only send out packet 3 once the hard file has been received? NVC was supposed to mail the hard copy back in mid December. I was told by another DOS worker that the hard copy had been received. Why would it all of a sudden disappear from their system?! Aaaahhhhh!

I am so worked up. Who else can I call? :(

They wouldn't have sent pkt3 if they didn't have your file...someone is getting confused with what they're telling you.

You can call the extortinate line...Although i'd try DOS again as they're not the friendliest bunch in London and you have to pay a fortune for someone to be rude!!

From london receiving the pkt3 it takes them about 10days to load it..they're sooo speedy

An email can take upto 2weeks for a response off London!

Phew! False alarm! I called back and they said they're showing the hard copy of our case is safely in London, and that packet 3 was mailed out last week. Still no word on them receiving packet 3, but I wasn't really expecting them to have put it in their system by today anyhow. We figured it'd be in by the end of January at the latest, and we'd get the interview date at the end of January/beginning of February. So far so good!

Glad to hear the embassy isn't totally ignoring me. I'd emailed them earlier in January and they responded within 24 hours, so I just assumed that was their normal response time. Guess not! Thanks for the quick response Rob&Dawn!
