Okay thanks...I was just trying to see if I could do like Shannon and Nick did...send back packet 3 right after they send it out. Seems like in Jamaica it can take awhile to get.

Call DOS. The phone number is 202 663 1225 ( press 1 & then 0) & ask for an update on your case & they will tell you everything.

Only problem we found with that is that DOS is usually 24 hours behind the embassy, I called them on the extortion line and have emailed them a few times, they have always got back to me within 48 hours.

in fact I got a lovely email this afternoon saying

"Your forms have now been received and your interview will be scheduled very shortly. You will receive confirmation of the date and time of the interview in the mail."

Sincerely,

I have a question, I read a hundred times "SO", I know what you mean but what these letters mean exactly ???

significant other

Yuck, I will never use that

hahaha. it's very useful. for example, my girl friends and i will email each other about dinner plans and say "sigs os are invited" if it's ok for boyfriends and husbands and relationships in between to come.

is there a french equivalent?

Yes we would say : vous pouvez venir "accompagnés", you can come with compagny (spelling ?)

guests? isn't that invitees?

DOS is Department of State, they receive all updates from the respective embassies.

Get Johny to write it on in black pen, wont be a problem. Some of the DS forms dont allow enough room to fill all the info in and in my packet 3 it says to hand write any additional info that wont fit "on screen"

You'll be fine!!

guest = invité

But when you talk about what you said, like you work in a compagny, they organize a dinner, if you can bring your "other part" they will say : Vous pouver venir accompagnés. That is the official word in that case.

OK thanks...i tend to worry and panic cuz im so scared that he will still be denied for some stupid thing that i did...okay another question...when i went to go get my I-134 notarized the guy handed me a blue pen to sign with so i signed with the blue pen and did not realize it until after it was already done, so do u think that will create a problem??? i know I didnt think so but with my luck it will...everything else is typed or in black ink...

It shouldnt make a difference, places usually specify black ink as it photocopies easier than blue, our attorney signed everything in blue and we've had no problems so far !

Thanks Chris&Steph. You know I think that website is a blessing and a curse. I had 2 touches earlier in the week which made me really happy and then nothing until I received the hard copy NOA2 in the mail. I was a nervous, anxious, grumpy wreck all week. The website still says case pending even though I received the hard copy in the mail. Stay away from that website if you can. Easier said than done, I know. I checked it 5+ times a day, everyday last week. I think that all the July filers will be approved by the end of December. At least I really really hope so. It's a rough immigration world out there! We gotta stick together!! :)

Maybe I have too much hopes but I remembered your NOA2 story and found this post you sent. Maybe it is the same for me, touched yesterday, touched today but my status didn't change. Jamie will maybe receive the NOA2 by mail in a couple days :)

I'm starting to wonder if they lost, misplaced, or forgot about my file. not a touch since July. I would love to at least know they at least acknowledged my file exists! I have a feeling its been "forgotten" n i wont hear anything unless i start making calls...which i cant do for a couple more weeks. I give up on hearing anything til I call. this isnt the first time a company has lost or just tossed aside an important document of mine. grrrrrr.

:crying: :crying: :crying:

i hear ya jokalu.

thanks all! I wont give up. Just have my bad moments, i guess we all do.I keep seeing January 23 in my head. I called my sis and she said, 'you know, i have a feeling you're going to get it at the end of this month, i think January 23.'

Hmm, so we both have the same day in mind. So, lets see! i'm hoping for Jan 23! =)

(I actually KNEW when Shannon n Nick were getting theirs, i was going to post it, but didnt want to look crazy. So i was flabbergasted wen they posted they got it that day!)

Juliette, your day is sooooo soon. I think this week. I see a trend in the rfe's, they usually come very quick after they receive the rfe. this week for sure.

I was near a david's bridal shop today so i just peeked in at the dresses and got so excited! Aaaw, can't wait!
