Hey guys.. just a question.. i want to get your opinions..

the USEM here in Bermuda has receieved our case since Thursday (according to DHL tracking) but they havent contact me or anything for that matter. Should I give them a ring to make sure they have it? I dont want them thinking that Im too excited and I couldnt wait for them to send me something. hehe What do you think - should I ring them tomorrow just to ask if they've receieved it (eventhough I know that already LOL)?

I agree. They've only had it for a few days lol. It looks like the USEM in France takes awhile before sending out p3. I'm going (to try) to ignore the fact that I know they have my case until Jan 5 2009. If my fiance hasn't received anything by then I'll start bugging them. :) I don't expect much from them until after New Years.

Koakland, I think that you will be happy about this information (like I was). The USEM in Paris is very quick compared to other ones. The average time between the day they receive the folder from NVC and the interview date is 1 month. It is 10-12 weeks for UK and 2 months for Canada. Should I be proud of my country administration for the 1st time of my life ?;)

But yeah, it will slow down during the holidays, don't forget that we have 5 weeks off paid per year here :)

As for this DHL tracking stuff, they are showing that a bunch of packages were mailed off today, only one of which is from the UK. It says "diplomatic papers" and weighs 5 lbs. Does this sound about right?

:) You sound like Jeremy but it's actually Americans that process the paperwork - The US Embassy in Paris is staffed by Americans. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm 99% sure) And US bureaucracy as we all know can be hit or miss. 1 month isn't all that bad as compared to 4.5 months. Like I said, I'm not really worried about it. I'll wait until after the New Year holiday. During Christmas Jeremy is going to the Mairie in his hometown to get a certified copy of his birth certificate, so we're not even really ready for an embassy action. And I have yet to receive my employment verification from my employer. Hopefully, it'll come in today. no worries from me though.

Oh yes, Jeremy got his police certificate (extraits de casier judicaire - that is spelled so wrong) in less than a week so kudos to the French bureaucracy for processing that fast!

Good job with the spelling mon amie ! Yes you are right about the USEM in Paris, so maybe they won't stop working during 2 weeks ! It should feel so bad to be in France and to not enjoy the social part. I'm gonna miss this part of France when I will be in the US... Please let me know step by step about your folder at the embassy :) French it up sista !

There won't be any random strikes at the USEM during the next 2 weeks ;) I'll let you know when my fiance receives packet 3, gets the interview etc. There is also another french/american couple with a timeline similar to ours, Alice and Brandon. I've been pming Alice about her case. I'll keep you updated.
