I filed last Friday and I was soooo excited!!! Light at the end of the tunnel. Now I'm a bit obsessed, checking my bank account everyday to see if the check has been cashed, looking at forms, setting up savings accounts for the future. I even called the IRS last night to order tax transcripts even though I know that I won't need it for months and months. I guess I'm excited and anxious!

Hey look at that We both mailed our forms the same day and got the delivery confirmation the same day. We're Same Day Buddies!

Just checked, nothing's been cashed yet. And to top that off, my bank doesn't scan copies of the check so I'll have to wait till I get in in the mail.

Our NOA1 was issued on July 23; however, the case status is not on the web yet. The case number is being

spit out as a failed case status retrieval and the receipt number cannot be found this time in the automated system. How long will it take to be in the system anyway? I've read some posts on this subject saying that their status were available online right away and were touched immediately after the NOA1. Any comments, please.

Yeah.. there are a lot of numbers on the back of the check. It was really hard for me to read them. So, I printed the check out with my printer and the number is clearly printed out.

Print out the check to read the number, if you can't see it clearly on the screen.

What do the numbers on the back of the check mean? Where do I register them and what does it tell me???

The numbers that start with WAC are your case number. You can use them to register your case online to check for updates on the USCIS website.

I have no Idea! I do know though some people had to wait about 3 to 5 days THEN it showed up. If it does not call the help line they have listed and ask them if it does not show up in a week

Just an FYI for those who do not know about *IGORS LIST*

this way you can keep track where you stand on the list AND how fast each center is moving along for the Marriage visas and fiance(e) visas

I noticed your NOA1 was on July 25th. Is your case status online yet?

I have no Idea! I do know though some people had to wait about 3 to 5 days THEN it showed up. If it does not call the help line they have listed and ask them if it does not show up in a week

Hi all -- I'm also a July filer and just found this through another thread.

We filed our papers on 7/7 (VSC) and the check was just cashed on 7/31! As I said in the other thread I don't think I've ever been so happy to see hundreds of dollars disappear.

No NOA1 yet, but I pulled the case number from the check (also EAC08********) and it works in the USCIS system! Despite the wait (I kind of wish I'd found this thread sooner, I'd looked at the NOA1 estimates and gotten worried the past couple of weeks like the rest of you that something had gotten lost, even though I had the delivery conf) I'm feeling very glad at the moment that the automated system does exist, it feels like we're out of the "black hole", though it sounds like we'll be back into it past NOA2 when everything gets shifted to the main office and then consulate.

It did seem to take a couple of days for my bank to realize the check was taken -- the USCIS stamp says 7/29 but my bank says 7/31.

Good luck to everyone with their process. I found VJ just last month. My fiance and I had been dating across the NY/Canada border for the past two years (Oct 06), the border guards know us so well that some of them had been teasing us about getting married for awhile now. A couple of well meaning but misinformed US guards told us the fiance visa process should only take a month! Then I found this site and panicked. We are underway now, I'm moving to CA for a job at the end of this month (which is why we started looking into paperwork, we thought he'd be able to come with me easily!), he's coming with me to visit for about a month, then coming back up here to defend his dissertation (he's a military historian) and take care of the NOU2 process which should hopefully pick up toward the end of October.

This site has been such a lifeline, though I do get a little overwhelmed at keeping up with it all. But the amount of information here, and the people, are just amazing.

Yes my case status is online. As soon as I received the letter in the mail (none through email at all go figure lol)

I put it in..

now make sure when you put it in but the whole thing including the letters BUT with no dashes:)

My husband finally received our NOA1 last July 31.... I'm happy because it's not an RFE but I'm still feelin sad because it will be a long way to go before I can move with him :crying: just thinking about of 3 to 4 years of waiting... ohhh I can feel my heart is ripping apart. :crying:

I just realized your signature says you filed I-130, so you're K3. The rest of us here filed K1, which is a little different. You might check out the K3 forum to find more K3 filers, as I'm guessing some significant differences come up along the way.

Be glad that you've gotten to see your fiancé so frequently. Many here are separated from their SO for years before getting their visa. But I completely understand about getting a shock about how long the process will take. Originally my fiancé was trying to get a student visa here, but when it started looking like he couldn't obtain the funds needed for an I-20, we started checking out K1. I am still saddened that this process takes soooo long! I thought he'd be here permanently by now, but he's only visiting me now. I still am in tears whenever I think of the months we're going to be apart again after he has to leave in September.

This process is difficult on all of us. But that's one thing we have - each other! The support offered on this forum helps keep me sane through this process. Welcome to our July group!

It's a Vermont thing. As long as someone signed for your envelope you'll be fine. They are taking there time lately...if you search timelines for Vermont, you'll see that it has been slow.
