First of all, congrats to all those who have been approved! :dance: And good luck to everyone else still waiting!

So, I had two touches last week (4th and 5th), but nothing: no approval, no RFE, no new touches. I'm sure I'm worrying for nothing and that my approval will come eventually. I filed pretty late in July, so I didn't expect to get a touch so soon. I was kind of hoping that maybe they had issued the NOA2 without updating CRIS, but after seeing that Kookland (congratulations! ) already got their NOA2 in the mail after a couple touches this week, I'm not holding out much hope. I keep telling myself to just wait it out, but I'm growing increasingly nervous that it was only touched to be moved to the "Let's-Not-Adjudicate-This-File-'Til-March-Box." Sigh.

Thanks Chris&Steph. You know I think that website is a blessing and a curse. I had 2 touches earlier in the week which made me really happy and then nothing until I received the hard copy NOA2 in the mail. I was a nervous, anxious, grumpy wreck all week. The website still says case pending even though I received the hard copy in the mail. Stay away from that website if you can. Easier said than done, I know. I checked it 5+ times a day, everyday last week. I think that all the July filers will be approved by the end of December. At least I really really hope so. It's a rough immigration world out there! We gotta stick together!!

The following day? It's taking ~3 months to get EAD, and we're going to desperately need him to have an income ASAP. I will route him through JFK if it's not costing much more to try for the EAD stamp so he can try to work prior to that. Either way, I need him to be eligible and working when I start my job hunt in May so we're not worried about making rent and stuff.

And our bad news came again -- Andy did not get the job. It seems that the world is against us and relieving our financial worries. Now the goal is to get him here ASAP and work authorized; at least I know he can get work here. I hope things pick up the pace as they're supposed to!

sorry that Andy didn't get the job. Everywhere seems to be in an economic slump at the moment. As far as the k1 process goes, it seems that we wait for soo long to get approved, then when it does happen, it seems to be 'all systems go'. I can't keep up with the pace that it is going at the moment. Of course i know it all depends which embassy one is dealing with. But the one here in NZ is very fast!! (once they receive your package from nvc that is!) I managed to get my medical done two days after i got packet 3. I only needed to get one vaccination done and that was for tetanus. Also, apparently, some of the vaccines are dependent on your age, so i am kinda glad i am not 'young' lol!! As it is, I had a bad reaction to the vaccine and had to go and see my own doctor.

I too, will try and apply for aos as soon as possible as it's going to take a while to get the ead. And have also been reading here on vj of some problems people are having getting their ssn (especially if you are female and want to get it in your new married name)

Hoping that those that are still waiting will all get approved before Christmas!!! C'mon uscis! you can DO IT!!!

I just got done talking to Keith and he still hasnt recieved the packet 3, It was mailed from london on the 4th of December. He should have gotten by now.. Even if a little turtle was delivering it , he would have had it by now. He tried to call the embassy last night, he tried 7 times and each time it would take him through all the commands and then say all lines are busy and disconnect him. He figures that cost him at least 10 to 15 quid.. Needless to say he wasnt a happy camper. So I told him to give up for now and wait until today but still not here. So he will try calling on Monday to see if they can resend it or something..

Right now he is saying why cant things go smoothly,, He is really missing me , hehe I like that Plus he is emptying out the flat and moving in with his parents until the visa comes through to work to pay them back the money he owes them plus to save to come home on. I have offered to pay for his ticket but he is so damn stubborn and wont except any money from me. Sooo What I will do when the time comes in just pay for it and then tell him about it after lol.. Xmas is coming and his birthday is in febuary and valentines day and our wedding so I will make it a gift.. haha he cant refuse a gift

Doesn't the NVC letter give you your new case number? I'm not sure you necessarily need that though to email the embassy (I haven't read that).

You would be correct from what I researched. All you need is the NVC number THAT is the one the embassy will be using

Get Keith to fill out the forms required for pkt 3 and send them in even if he hasn't 'officially' received pkt 3.

Forms required can be got off the US London Embassy website, but will need Ds-156, DS-156K, Ds-230, IV15 (checklist).

As long as he puts the new case number given by NVC he will be good to go.

I'm with Nick & Shannon on this... i'm sending in pkt 3 as soon as i know the Embassy have my file

I want to get the EAD as soon as possible as sitting at home for days on end will drive me nuts.
