i called NVC a while ago... i talked to a lady and she asked for our case number, after i gave her she asked when was the notice date, immediately she told me that they dont have our case yet and it will take 4-6 weeks for them to have it. she didnt even checked it!!! i wanted to call again and hope there will be a nicer person to talk to.

guys, how many days before the NVC had ur case?

Call them agian, ours was there and left within 4 days !!!!

specifically ask if its in AP as they wont volunteer that info!

OR try calling DOS, we've spoken to them a couple of times and always really helpful!

what is an AP? and why do other cases were on that?

im calling NVC again..

what can i ask people in DOS? sorry im so clueless..

AP is administrative processing where they go back thro the applicatiopn for further checks, it would appear that only a few are "picked" out tho. Unfortunately it can take a while to get thro AP according to the webstats of NVC.

When you call DOS just tell them you have a query with you case and arent getting anywhere with NVC, they ask for case no and details of you and your SO and then be able to give up to date info.

When we called they even told us what day our case had been sent to London embassy.

Their no is 202-663-1225

Your not clueless, we're all here to help each other so ask away!

I would call DOS, seems odd that it would take 90 days to mail out an approved petition but I may be wrong??

I would take: (just working off the UK list here so might be slightly different for you?)

If you have it the NOA2

any upto date proof of ongoing relationship/ chat logs/letters/emails etc etc

Affadavit of support-notorized and supporting documents ie tax returns to prove income

if you can, a copy of everything you submitted to USCIS initially

any divorce papers if applicable

I'm sure others will have some suggestions as well.....

OH and the most important...... a huge HUG for your SO ! :innocent:

Any idea what kind of stuff makes people go into AP? I'm probably worrying about nothing (as usual) but although Sebastian is British, his dad is Iranian and with our relations with them being a bit strained right now I'm wondering if that would raise any eyebrows. Sebastian doesn't have any kind of dual citizenship with Iran, and has never even visited for that matter since his dad moved to the UK when he was a teenager, but who knows.

We also attached a letter explaining that Sebastian has a SSN from living in the States when he was a kid (his dad worked in California). I'm now wondering if we should've even bothered or if it will just hold things up.

Just venting a bit! First, of course, we need the NOA2. Someone sprinkle some luck dust our way :).

I cant find the website that I was reading about it and the only mention it made was for non immigrant visas ie tourist visas. It did say most AP was resolved within 60 days but to give them 90 days before contacting them.

There doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why some are chosen and others are not from reading on VJ, maybe its just a random spot check every once in a while to check USless ahve done their jon properly?

I wouldnt have thought it would cause any problems after all he's the beneficiary but I may be wrong?

We've all got our magic dust out for those that are still waiting! fingers crossed for ya!

Thought I'd let everyone that Andy thought his job interview went well, and he should get a call at the end of the week as to whether he gets it or not. I'm bummed out about it though, because apparently it is not an IT tech position like we thought and just some stupid electronics sales job. I'm not sure I want him to take it even if it's offered, but he wouldn't have much choice. I don't think that sort of job is worth keeping us apart any extra length of time, though, so it won't really help with the financial situation like I'd hoped.

So I bid and bought Andy's ring off ebay. I'm nervous, as I don't usually buy things off there... but he wanted a two-tone gold ring and we couldn't otherwise afford it. $51 with shipping for a gold ring seems like a good deal. Let's hope it is!

I haven't bothered to call about our case yet. I'll give it a couple more days. I don't like being on the phone. :P I'm busy trying to finish up 3 projects before next week. Ugh... I'm almost done illustrating the book project, at least. Maybe a couple of the daffodils will brighten the day of those still waiting on NOA2.

USCIS initiates I-129F processing in the order they are received but they don't all get adjudicated in order - nor do I think any of us would want that. A FIFO (first in first out) system would require all of us to wait for those I-129Fs that require extra processing time to be completed before we could get our approvals. It would be an impossible system to manage. Imagine someone getting an RFE and taking 3 months to respond...we'd all have for that I-129F to be completed before we could get approved. No, it's definitely not FIFO - it's more fair than that. Generally, however, the I-129Fs are approved in the order they are received...think about it. All of us with approximately the same NOA1 dates are getting approved at approximately the same time. It's clearly as fair a process as it can possibly be. :)

whoops, let me clarify what I meant :)

I do think they should be processed in order. I do think that each case should be looked at in the order they are received. If someone gets an RFE, that file should then be set aside to wait for the needed info - and the adjudicator can then move on to the next case that was rec'd and start processing that one. When the needed RFE info arrives the adjudicator should return to the file and finish processing it, imho.

While I am THRILLED we got our approval and have moved further on in the system I would have rather seen my approval come when it is my turn. I think that all of the April, May and June filers should have had attention to their case in some way before mine. Just as I would have appreciated our case being taken care of before the August filers that had been approved.

Next time you address me, please steer clear of phrases such as "think about it" and "clearly" as they appear to be condescending and I do not appreciate that. We each have our opinions, please allow me to voice mine without feeling the need to "correct" me. Thanks :)

Whoops. Let ME clarify what I meant :)

I was throwing out the RFE as an example of how some petitions originally filed back in June could take longer to process and, as a result, a July or August filer might proceed to NOA2 before a June filer. It was an example...I should have made that more clear. What I'm saying is I don't think any of us wants a FIFO system. Can you imagine how this thread would read if we all us July filers were waiting for ALL the May and June filers to be approved? Holy smokes...a couple posters on this thread have expressed such deeply seated depression waiting four short months for NOA2 that I fear they would no longer be with us. What I'm saying is that I don't find it particularly "supportive" for people to say that the process is unfair...when it clearly is not. It's just not unfair. It's actually incredibly fair. Look at how everyone is getting approved at approximately the SAME time! That's all I'm saying. Sorry to have sounded condescending. Truly was not my intent. I just don't think it's fair to say USCIS is USELESS when we are all getting approved 2 months in advance of thier published processing times. In the real world, these people would be applauded for over-performance. IMHO! :)
