I also want to wear a red and white dress on my wedding day even though we are probably getting married in a town hall due to lack of funds. we wanted to get married on valentines day too so i thought it would fit only....who knows if he will actually be back by then....

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On December 8, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE ARE STOKED!!!!!!!!!

okay WHAT next I so need to bust my ### and mail this to him!!!

I was going to go to bed said what the heck TORTURE myself and look!!

See, we told you that you'd get your approval this week!

hi all, I am looking for opinions here... We are getting married on Feb. 21st , I want to wear a red short dress, not a gown.. I also want to wear boots with it.. Now my reason for this is , red signifies something special to me.. The song , lady in red is the song that my father chose to leave to me when he passed away. I still cry 20 years later when I hear that song but its ok , so I feel this is my special time and the red dress would be great plus its in febuary and close to valentines day. Also I have lost alot of weight over the last couple of years and I think I am ready LOL to show off some leg plus keith likes that idea hehe. AS for the boots, Keith loves women in boots. I have never worn them because I always had problems walking in heels with my extra weight . anyways.. I was telling some friends my idea and they responded with ... that is stupid, its your wedding and you will look strange dressed in a red dress with boots getting married :( . Keith would love it and as I said before the red dress means something to me soo what do you guys think. I consider you all my family as you all understand what we are going through. Would you wear the red dress and boots? I wont go hooker look lol , just a pretty red dress ... Please give me your opinions.. Thanks

CHelle

Oh, don't listen to them at ALL! I highly suggest joining the Offbeat Bride Tribe. It's an online forum for women (and some men!) who want to break away from traditional weddings. There's an entire group dedicated to red dress brides and some of them are absolutely breathtaking! Go, join, get some inspiration, and wear your gorgeous red dress!

And OH MY GOD, CHAM!!!!!!!! SOOOOO happy for you! :) :) :)

Red is actually more common than you think for weddings -- I've seen plenty of folks on VJ post pics of the bride wearing red. It's tradition in some countries, too. Your friends need to be smacked upside the head for not being supportive!

As for the boots, I'm not sure what kind you mean exactly, but I'm sure you can pull off a great ensemble. A family friend of mine wore cowboy boots with her pretty traditional wedding dress, and nobody thought anything odd about it.

Dillards has some great choices for dresses and gowns. Here's a couple pretty ones:

And look at these gorgeous boots I found on overstock (drool):

Wee, that was fun. :) Anyway, it's YOUR wedding, so wear what brings you joy. And then post pictures for us to see! :D

:) I just checked the USCIS website and there was another touch. I'm hoping for it - my fiance will have won our bet. Unless we receive the NOA2 after Wednesday.

I'm just happy that we're seeing some action early this week. Last week was torturous!
