Everyone, keep your chin up! Think of the NOA2 as the best 'legal' Christmas present ever ;)

Things seem to be going from bad to worse with my situation...any day now we should be receiving the NOA2, and a month ago that should've made me the happiest person on Earth, but since my fiancé said he wanted to postpone the wedding (until Nov 2010), we've been in bits about what to do regarding our petition. I guess our only choice is to withdraw and resubmit a new petition for Mar 2010 - but we're so worried about getting rejected in case they see us withdrawing our petition as reason to deny us a visa! We called the USCIS (who were as helpful as a chocolate teapot) who didn't know what to do, so they said arrange an appointment with our local USCIS office, so my fiancé visited them, who in turn didn't know what to do and just gave him a sheet of useless phone numbers! Please - can any of you advise us? :bonk:

If I could give you 1 advice it would be to not cancel your K1. Take your time to send the paper and ask for delay. You can easily get married in 2010 and be sure to not get denied if you cancel and re-apply. If you are in love just take your time. Why your fiancé wants to postpone the wedding ?

Any NOA2 july filers buddies ? It is so long ! Do you guys are like me ? Going every day to check the uscis website with no hope. I have this feeling that the date will never change. I wonder if the website updates the date all the time... I have a question, I think I already asked it but I can't find where are the replies. The people who called NVC and got the good news of their approval, did you call the 24h machine and press 1 immigrant visa or did you ask to somebody during the working hours ? I know that people knew about their approvals like this even if their portfolio on uscis website never changed.

This is unlikely to be what you want to hear, but maybe something you need to hear. A fiancé asking for another 2 years to get married sounds like more than cold feet. It sounds to me like this guy really doesn't want to get married at all, and is too afraid or too selfish to end the relationship. Do you really want to put your life on hold for 2 more years with a long-distance relationship? I hate to think of someone else living like my friend Olivia on here - she spent 21 days with her husband and hasn't seen him in 2 YEARS! Your guy isn't suggesting you find another way to be together - he's suggesting to not be together at all for that period of time. If that hasn't bothered you yet, I think maybe it should.

I had to live this nightmare myself with my now ex-husband. I waited around for 5 years before he finally proposed, and then sat around another 2 before we got married. And finally after the end of it all (it lasted less than a year!), I realize he never wanted the relationship to begin with, just the friendship and conveniences it came with. It was just easier to stay together than go through the emotional trauma... until I got fed up with it all. I look back and think of how much time I waited around for that guy (calling it loyalty :innocent:) , and how sad it was I couldn't find the strength to go on my own sooner.

This whole immigration thing is traumatic, and if you decide to stay the course, you will need to withdraw your petition. It won't effect your case, and many couples on here have posted that they've done the same thing you're suggesting. Of course, you'll have to pay the filing fee again (ouch).

I'm not trying to rain on your parade... I just hate to see someone else throw away years of their life on someone that isn't willing to commit. (F)

I kept checking USless website so much it locked me out!

I went out to work and Shan text me about 1430 Florida time to say the site had just been updated with our approval.

For some reason I assumed it would be touched and updated quite early in the day so KEEP CHECKING EVERY HOUR if ya can!!

I always call the automated NVC number 16033340700 as its 24 hours and I never sleep - NOT that I ever shout and swear at the voice on the other end :innocent: :innocent:

K1 129 days to approval

K1 179 days to interview

EAD 45 days to approval

AP 45 days to approval

AOS 69 days to approval

yep, i'm there with you. nothing ever changes. my adjudication time frame keeps getting moved back as well. this month is off to a slooow start. we got nick n shannon approved n 2 others i saw, but seems like we are pretty helpless here. hopefully friday will bring more, that seems to be the biggest day for them, idk. :clock:

saw some june ppl pretty discouraged, not to mention estadia!

my fiance wants me to just look on the bright side, the longer we wait, the more money we will have saved! well, i guess by that time i'll be a millionaire!

Once we all had that big jump in timeline dates that pushed us back I quit believing in them. I got touched twice before those dates and all of the sudden I'm a mid December to mid January person? No approval yet but I wonder if there is some timeline default or glitch that happens once you get to 4.5 months for Cali or 4 months for Vermont? I bet they default to the USCIS 6 months timeline if you don't get it before 4.5 months...

NOA 2. Really?

Those timelines are wrong, I just don't know what the right ones would be.

Was on vacation for about a week and was hoping to get some news during that time, but, of course, no miracle here. Now both of us are pretty depressed... Called USeless today (Don't know why. I guess I just needed to do something) and the person just kept reading the script back at me at a very high speed. Tried to ask what was the idea behind their processing practices (it is supposed to be FIFO, right?), but it was like talking to a robot. She just kept saying that for a 'variety of reasons' processing times differ and that I was within their timeline and had to wait some more.

I never contacted one of my Senators. Maybe it was a mistake and I should finally do it now, because I'm just getting really frustrated. Can't imagine how June people must feel...

No doubt about the June people. I'm getting to the point where I wanna call USCIS just to talk. They don't have to tell me about my app; we can just talk about anything...

I don't know what to think now.

We rang them today to ask, at NVC, as DHL showed a package coming to NZ.

It isn't ours. After having our case since the 24th November, and telling us 4 times it wasn't in AP...as of today it is.

They can't tell us anything. They say they will email.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I can't work out who has been telling us porkies...the people we are speaking to since the 24th? The last person tonight?

We have 2 notices that say it will go out in a week. We rang after the holiday , and they told us nothing wrong with t..you aren't in AP...we just haven't sent it out.

And now they decide to put us in AP?

It's so annoying...I don't know I can believe a word any of them say.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
