Well, I just wanted to say that for 2 days, I couldn't check the status of my petition and I was starting to get irritated :whistle: especially seeing people getting approved already.. hehehe.. I was just getting excited and happy for everyone.. :devil:

Well, after getting stuck in traffic and a normal trip from Seattle to where I live only usually takes 35-40/mins.. it took me 2 n a half hours to get home today!!

Anyways, I just wanted to share my good news that I found when I got home and decided to check my status:

Receipt Number: WAC0xxxxxxxx

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On November 26, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

I just wanted to say, ppl, just hang in there and your turn will come.. my hands are a little shaky as I'm typing this and I think it's still sinking in!! :dance::dance: I had sent my petition in @ the very end of July, so I was surprise to get this notice so soon as my adj date was suppose to be Dec. 15-26.. And I never got another touch besides the one that happened like 4-5 days after my NOA1 date.. Oh, and I'm #84 on IGOR's List.. but not nemore :P

Couldn't have asked for a better surprise the day before Thanksgiving.. and I'm really THANKFULL for the quick approval, GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE AND HANG TIGHT!!! Just keep busy with work or whatever and it will go by fast!!! (L):yes::thumbs:

:dance::dance::thumbs:

Congratulations!! :dance::dance:

It's a pretty standard practice in many businesses, including many government offices. As much as I dislike the wait, we don't get enough federal holidays in this country imo -- and everyone should get some time off. I think the trend to make people work on Thanksgiving and Christmas that's started in the last few years is just plain disgusting. We don't really *need* the grocery stores open those days, or Wal-mart, or 50% sales on Christmas afternoon.

Congrats on the approval, iahmjpinoy. Can't say I'm not jealous, though.

And on a new topic... has anyone looked into wedding rings? It's basically the only thing I can look at since everything's gone financially sour. I'm obsessed with finding a pink sapphire band for myself (pretty much already know Andy's getting a white gold milgrain band)... but it's all priced just a bit higher than I hoped. I found the jackpot at ~$125 one night, but they were out of stock (and now removed from their site :( ) . I keep staring at these two bands, but hoping I can find something under $200 and in white gold:

Gorgeous! White gold pink sapphire & diamond band < the price = ouch

Rose Gold pink sapphire band < the rose gold = :/

Edit: I guess I should mention... I'm obsessed with the pink ring thing because of Andy. I was always an anti-pink gal, until he and I made a joke out of it in an online game we played (coloring each other's tanks pink in a war game). It ended up becoming our color (and I'm his pink sharky), so nothing would remind me more of him than a pink wedding band. :D

Oh i love the purple version of the first ring! nope havent looked too much. I guess it needs to match the engagement ring. I plan on wearing my engagement ring forever...maybe i'll use that as my wedding band...or wear 2 rings. ? idk. He's still paying off my ring, dont want to tell him he has to get me another one haha. we'll look when we are together. i'll pick out a cheap one this time :P

Both of those are really pretty.

Found an auction website for jewellery - bidz.com, not sure if its any good but some of the prices were really reasonable.

I'm going to drag Rob to the shops over Christmas to try and get our rings. I did have matching irish bands done, but didn't look right next to my engagement ring, thankfully i managed to get a refund!
