Hi everybody,

I got my EAD card last week...and I was wondering if I have to apply for SSN to be able to work....or there is no need?

I read somewhere on internet that if you work with EAD but without any SSN, you won't get paid, but you can still work. So you'll get paid until you get SSN....is this true?

Thank you

Jessica

Salut,

Je ne connais pas la reponse a ta question (my husband just said me:generally, yes) , mais tu peux demander au Service social (SSA) les documents qu'il te faut pour obtenir un SSN (bien preciser que tu as le EAD card, car je suppose que ton I-94 n'est plus valide).

Bon courage
