Hi all,

Recently received a reply after the expected 3 months. The only issue they have is with our last meeting. I sent photographs (dated) but those did not appear to be enough.

I have many things now I will be sending but I am unsure as to what is acceptable that I photocopy. Obviously I cannot remove passport pages, and they even say to photocopy it.

For airline stubs, etc. do they expect the original? It's VERY risky as I will have no other proof of our last meeting if this is lost.

Thanks in advance,

Rob

Make photocopies of the airline ticket stubs.

If you send copies of your passport pages, send copies of ALL the pages. (you CAN photocopy your passport pages - I sent copies of all my passport pages as my proof of citizenship since I couldn't find a copy of my birth certificate)

Don't send originals unless they ask for them.

No no -- don't send the originals! Just photocopy your airplane ticket stubs and be sure to indicate the dates. Then photocopy the first page with your passport (where your photo is) and then all the pages where your passport got stamped showing that you entered the country where your fiance' is. If the photocopies are a little hard to read, write next to the stamp "Stamp showing entry into COUNTRY on XX/XX/200X" etc. That stuff combined with the pictures will probably be enough to show that you've met in person recently.

Good luck! :)

Ticket stubs, passport pages and boarding passes are good to send (yes copies only.) Another thing to consider is Airline itinerary, hotel bills/receipts; restaurant or shopping bills/receipts showing you were in her/his country (with dates etc.) should also help. If you are short on such proof then maybe also include letters from his/her family saying they know you and met you when you came there on such and such dates etc. Since you have been RFEd I would suggest sending all you can (pile it on.) Good Luck

Don't send originals unless they ask for them.

Color photocopies unless the complete doc is in b/w.

I sent both passport pages photocopied color because it showed the entry and exit to/from Moscow and my birth certificate copy in color.

Tickets, airline booking from travel agency, on-line, whatever plus the boarding pass ... all in color.

Photos of you at known landmarks: the airport outside with the name of the airport if that's possible.

Anything that clearly shows where you were.

I don't know if anyone's done this. If you were with other friends they could submit a notarized statement that they were with you during time mmddyyyy in city at event, occasion, place, whatever. Just a thought because I've read that evidence of valid marital relationship can consist of statements from people who can verify the situation as being real.
