I-134 question

Hello,

I am preparing the packet to send my fiancee, ie: original I-129F, I-134, Affidavit of Support, co-sponsor's Affidavit of Support, and evidence of ongoing relationship. My question is: do we need copies of financial statements that accompany the I-134 such as bank statements, tax returns, statements from stock brokers, house deeds, etc.? The foreign consulate will not want to keep these, will they?

Thank you

Hi

The I-134 does say that they want duplicate copies of the requested forms. I do believe they keep these for their records... however there have been quite a few on the boards who have blacked out part of their social security number or their bank account number.. because the only thing that is requested is the date the account was opened, the deposit amounts, and the current balance... They don't need to know the other info.

Hope this helps.

You do not need to include bank statements. mutual funds, property valuations etc. unless you are using these to meet the 125% of poverty requirement. I only sent proof of income as I met the level and didn't submit any bank statements etc. for I129f or the AOS (Green card).

Same applies to the co-sponsor - if his income exceeds 125% of poverty level support for the group he doesn't need to submit additional documents. http://aspe.os.dhhs.gov/poverty/06poverty.shtml

motu,

There is no 125% of poverty level income requirement for a K visa.

  • 2 months later...

I have my stock deposited with eTrade and I have to jump through hoops with them now to get the stock certificate numbers....

How important is it that this information be included with the I-134? Is there any reason why I couldn't just leave the stock out??? Could I provide statements from eTrade and not worry about the certificate numbers? Anyone else encounter this?

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Jen,

My sense is that your most recent E-Trade statement should be adequate to document your stock holdings. If your income is adequate and secure there is no need for you to reveal your investment information.
