as we all filled information in ds-230 about Social security..do we need to apply for ssn seperatly to social security department ??

i have registered my marriage, under special marriage act ...do i still need cermony cert ??

If you fill social security form as part of the interview, your SS card will arrive within a month after the U.S arrival.

It depends on the community for religious marriage certificate. For more details, please visit the consulate web site.

Since your wife is doing the counter collection of the passport, did she pay the courier fee at VFS? Was that optional? It's definitely a small amount but just wanted to know.

desiboy, yes, Rs.365 is mandatory and the consulate needs this receipt even if you collect the passport from the counter.

Congrats Loto.. and best of luck, and I am still waiting for the case to be completed, and as of today I am still getting the same message, that NVC has received the doc and found something missing, look like they have to update they AVR. and I hopping for an approval by end of this week and an interview date by next week, and also I am about the start NVC process for cousin , hopefully by end of this month, as she has filled the change of status in mid-june as my cousin just become an American citizen. Now I cannot wait to help her on NVC prcoess.
