and also him being able to show that he'll have sufficient funds to support himself with his bank statement and the amount he'll have left after he pays rent during the time that he is visiting me, as well as a letter from me saying that i will support him financially, too, while he is there?

I think that the return ticket, pay stubs and something from the landlord or a copy of a lease with his name on it would be fine. That's my opinion though... anyone else have anything to add to that?

For me recently on the train, they've asked me who I'm going to see (I say fiance... don't lie!), where, what I do for work and if I have a return ticket. The past 3 times they have only asked to see the return ticket and that's been enough, but each officer and crossing are different occurences so you'll want him to be as prepared as possible just in case.

I also carry a letter from my employer saying when I'm due back to work, how long I've worked there, etc. but I've never had to use it.

thank you for your opinion, we won't lie, he'll say fiance. since he doesn't work maybe he can bring something that proves he is receiving money from the government regularly and that he has to check in at different times throughout the year to keep receiving it too. maybe he should bring a bank statement showing the money is from them and he could contact them and let them know he is visiting me and that he might be in the states when they contact him for an appointment, they do it randomly, hopefully they could even give him a letter to bring with him to visit, proving all of that.

I just wanted to mention also if he takes in his i'm asumming disability check stub with him it is also a good form to show he will lose his income if he fails to return. Also i just want to mention with the government checks ppl cant be gone long before, they are cut off, I think it even states on the check stub that if your gone more then 7 days you will lose your benifits. It may not be something he has to worry about but just in case check it out.

As for the bank statements and any type of bills and his mom's rent reciepts will help, even if he has a doctors appoitment take anything that shows he has to come back it cant hurt.

its just general financial assistance, he gets it because of his anxiety problem but he's never been officially diagnosed or given disability before. he is going to start therapy soon though, either here in canada before he get's the K1 visa or after that in the states with my health insurance once we're married. he hasn't seen the check stubs for the checks they send because they're direct deposit into his account so he's not sure about that, we will try to find out for sure though.

if he starts therapy here in canada we will include the appointments as well as the other things, yeah.
