It's certainly very easy to develop a crush on someone you've never spoken to etc etc etc.

Thinking about it though, the things I love most about my husband tend to be those funny sweet looks he gives me, or having a silly dance, or those things that cannot be conveyed with language alone.

Are those enough? Probably...but I know we talked a bunch before we really got there...or maybe they were there all the time and I just didn't notice it. Maybe you notice them more when you don't have language to share.

It also helps if they have a really hot body. Oh yes indeed it does.

lol :D

Hot bodies, smells, that certain thing you can only say in French and which I can't spell....heh....it all adds up, doesn't it :D

I do also feel like the "getting to know one another" part of the relationship afterward can last a lifetime and be REALLY interesting. I would really be put out if Ben said he "knows me inside out" - peh - I don't know him inside out! And I never will, either, because he's an intelligent, interesting, complicated, funny guy who's myriad of a mind is beyond my full comprehension. And vice-versa. Ya know? We're all so complex that the learning process ought never, ever to stop - and why would we want it to? It's far too interesting to keep talking, and keep communicating.

You never know how deep your love can get until you just...keep loving. And another bad thing about thinking you know someone inside out, it that they can then begin to feel undervalued, taken for granted and unexplored. That will lead to problems - and is funnily enough, one of the major things that will land an otherwise loving couple in hot water and down the Therapist's place...

Love is so interesting. I love defining it, myself - exploring what leads to the feeling, what cannot be explained, how the feeling grows...mainly because I myself want to nurture the beautiful feeling I've been given the chance to experience in the correct way, ie: I need to find the best nutrients for this. Who's with me on that?

Hey - we ought to form a mutual therapy club or something like that, to help each other explore what makes a loving relationship flourish. We could be a group of the most well informed and those in the most caring partnerships out there. Just a little idea I had in the last 59 seconds :P:D

it's the girls who can shoot the ping pong balls out of their coochie coo's that I'm envious of - sucking a golf ball through a garden hose seems rather tame by comparison.

As for the question: it must be difficuilt - sex is not all I think.. and when people are together longer loundry will probably still good but talking is a good thing too...

For us

My English is not the best and David does not speak German. When David is in Germany I get scared sometimes because I'm talking to people in German and he would answer the right thing but in English :o

Now he is starting to pick up my funny German English - but I hope he will stop that soon again so that Henry is not learning that... For example: English - this morning direct translation from German would be today morning....

We do not have lots of misunderstandings but some and I definitely need to learn more words and grammar...

The science that JayJay quoted seems pretty relevant to who we end up with. There are a lot of online relationships that got on for a very long time but then completely fizzle when in person. What changed? I once talked to someone online for a year and a half. I found him to be very attractive physically. We talked on the phone .. etc. I thought he was perfect for me. We met in person and everything changed. The attraction ceased to exist almost instantly after all that time of it existing.

People who love eachother find it easier to understand what others would not. Any mother can verify this. Our children communicate to us from the very beginning and we quickly learn to understand them even though others do not understand what they are trying to communicate. When we speak to our SOs we also use more than words to communicate. Often time couples have a language of their own. I know my husband and I certainly do.

A friend of mine is from Jordon. His english is not very clear. I have a hard time understanding a lot of what he says. His wife however understands every word. I think that ability to understand comes from the underlying love.
