Hi:

I need to apply for a duplicate passport for my spuse and son who came on a K1/K2 visa.

What is the quickest way to get a passport in chicago?

The normal process takes 3-6 months.

I heard they have emergency services for passport.

Do they issue the passport immediately?

Is is impossible to get hold of somebody on the phone at chicago.

Can somebody share their experience?

Please reply.

I don't know about Chicago, but at the Indian consulate in New York, you pretty much have to get there early in the morning (6-7), stand in line and talk to the info guy at the counter. You have to get there early because the counter clsoes at a certain time and even if you are #2 in line at that time you're sh!t outta luck. They dont answer phones or emails so I wouldn't even bother with that.

Hey buddy;

just look up the Indaian consulate in Chicage http://chicago.indianconsulate.com/Passpins.html

They issue passports the same day if you get there early enough (see #3) "For miscellaneous services applications received upto 12:30 p.m., the services are rendered on the same day. "

So you can drive down or fly to Chicage and get it done the same day or spend one night. Call them first to confirm that this can be done. Good Luck

I believe you have to be there in person. I never had any success in calling them.

Also, you may want to contact the USCIS immediately to see what the procedure is to a copy of the visas and the I-94 that they received upon arrival in the U.S. All that is needed for the AOS and EAD.
