I still haven't ever heard the guy - I don't intend to start listening now. His 4 billion fortune is of no interest to me and I'll take NPR any day of the week.

It's not radio 4, but it's informative, interesting and at least scratches the surface of a topic rather than blithely gliding over the top. Have fun arguing about it.

Yep. NPR rawks....Fresh Air, In This Life, Day to Day - superb programming. KPCC and KCRW are my two favorite local stations....Larry Mantle in the mornings. :)

As for Air America - I tried listening to it and found it boring. I don't get news-like, personality driven formats...I could give a sh!t about the host...it's the subjects and the people they interview that interest me.

I have listened to Rush on occasion, and seldom agreed with much of what he says. Before when he said he was completely Pro War On Drugs to after he got caught abusing pharmaceuticals. Rush is a serious pile of Right Wing garbage in my book. Call this a post judgment, what a smelly tool that idiot is.

I don't get why people clam up and get defensive about an idiot like Rush. It says a lot about some people that they feel they have to defend someone like that and hold him up as an icon of the conservative movement. All he does is blame the other side for everything that he finds dislikeable or objectionable in the news for that day. Real insightful commentary that - but I some people find value in masturbatory bully-boy commentary.
