Thanks for your guides and investigative skills, Loto! I was right behind you in the brave new world of NVC online payments and it all worked beautifully...

For months, I have been compiling potential interview questions, and now the time is soon upon us (although I must admit that I don't know how to find out our interview date beyond waiting for the letters they send us... I will do some searching on VJ ...).

I have consolidated the questions, incorporating yours, into a big long list that I posted on the Wiki as "Consular Interview Questions."

So for everyone out there who has had an interview, please add anything that is missing. For anyone with an interview in the near future, GOOD LUCK!

January 7 I-130 sent - APPROVED in 106 days.
Interview - APPROVED 175 days from NOA-1 date
ROC - 2010-2011
October 5 - I-751 sent APPROVED 111 days from NOA-1 date, no interview.
NATURALIZATION - 2012
APPROVED 79 days.
May 9 - Oath ceremony - in Oakland, CA.
*************Didn't have enough of the immigration process yet!! Starting again with 16-year-old (step)son****************
IR-2 - 2012-2013

Nov 15 - I-130 sent. NOA-1 received from MSC.
Jan 22 - APPROVED 65 days from NOA-1. Never transferred to field office.

Feb 4 - received @ NVC
Feb 26 - Got NVC Case # and Invoice ID #
----------------------------------slowing down the process a little... stepson can't come till nearly July-----------------------------
March 19 - Sent e-mail Choice of Agent, without scan of DS-3032. Paid AOS fee ($88).
April 1 - Choice of Agent information accepted (10th "working day" to accept).
April 3 - IV invoice appeared. Paid IV fee ($230).
April 11 - Sent IV package and AOS package TOGETHER. Confirmed delivery April 15.

April 26 - Case Complete (10th working day)

May 14 - Interview date assigned (12th working day)

June 5 - Interview in Sofia - VISA GRANTED!!!

June 16 - POE @ SFO. No problems. He's a citizen now!

Oct 4 - US Passport received. (SS card received some time in the summer; had to go to SSA office to obtain)

11/18: INTERVIEW DATE/MANILA EMBASSY/0630AM - VISA APPROVED!

11/20 : Visa in hand! (that was fast!)

11/30 : Flight to USA!

Hi LoTo.. thank you for this guide! sure is helping me alot right now. just got into NVC and just paid my AOS online.. just can't figure out why i can't get an automated response after i emailed the DS-3032 but other than that, the guide is just wonderful!

Thanks for the guide. Just a quick question if you know. It says to submit all documents to NVC which goes along with DS230. I'd my grandmother get her visa..and even though I was the agent on behalf of her. documetns like originals and PCC I never submitted to NVC over here but was collected by consulate there.

Is the rules changed that u have to submit to NVC and not Consulate in the country of beneficiary?

Yes, now the new procedure mandates NVC to collect those.

Previously, it was in the form of Packet-3 and Packet-4. Now, there are no packets and NVC sends the visa interview letter too. Consulate has only the interview, now.

Can someone sticky this and stick the NVC Lotocut :)

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!
