Hi All , well , i had my IR-1 interview in London today , what an ordeal ! i knew that ,well thought that i would require a waiver for two cimt that i have , so i get to the interview and the officer hits me with an overstay , i was aware of it but didnt think it was a problem as i had a K-3 denied/approved here in 2003 . So , he says ,yes you need a waiver for the cimt AND the overstay ! well that really did it for me ....or so i thought ! .. i was told to wait at window x and someone would see me and advise me on the waiver , the guy appears and looks through my file , oh ..i see you have already had a waiver approved ?..yes says i ! ok then he says , once a waiver is approved it stays with you for life..therefore , you dont need one .. send in the missing paperwork { mom in laws proof of residency } and your good to go !!! HOW CHUFFED AM I !! 7 years of agro , denials , tears etc ! and all because of £80 woth of fines 22 years ago ! oh well , i hope its all over now , and myself and my family can return to the states and carry on where we left of ! i wonder if im entitled to compensation ? lol !

Congrats on rollercoaster success! I have been following your story for a while now and can't get over the inconsistency in their decision-making processes. Why the hell would you approve a waiver, knowing someone is packing up their entire family to move to another country, only to deny them once there. I hope you and your family can finally enjoy some serenity.
