So, the check was cashed! Yay!

But...

The number is EAC 08 + 7 other numbers. This adds up to 12 numbers, NOT the 13 needed to pull up our case.

There is another number that is 10 digits long, but it is preceeded by X7. I doubt this is our case number.

This is REALLY annoying!!!!

Any suggestions?

Ok...nevermind. The numbers were given to me incorrectly! Looks like the NOA1 date is 6/26/08, and we're officially pending.

Well if you have the last 4 numbers, and are quite anxious about getting it , you can always try to figure it out. Here's how it breaks down...

Example - EAC 08 143 5 1234

EAC - Vermont Service Center (formerly Eastern Adjudication Center)

08 - The fiscal year of USCIS, from October 1 to September 30. (Cases filed from 10/01/2006 to 09/30/2007 will have xx = 07)

143 - The working day of the fiscal year when your case is received. 10/01 = 001

5 or 0 - Either 5 (in database) or 0 (paper files) ... K1's are put into database

1234 - A serial number assigned to your case based on the number of cases received, starting from 0001
