"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Right on the mark LuckyStrike! Thank you liberalville Democrats for this fine energy mess you got us into now in past 2 years! What happened to this Nancy Pelosi pledge from 2 years ago "The Democrat party has a solid substantial energy policy to put in place to bring down the price and cost of gas and energy prices that we will be using soon." Well that was pronounced over 2 years ago and guess what? The Do Nothing Democrat Congress is doing what they do best - NOTHING!

I love the sleight of hand that the right uses to blame the dems for the energy crisis. It's quite priceless and gives the headless chickens of consumption more fuel to their fire of 'it's liberal guilt' or 'dems prop up terrorist economies' or whatever else they need to use to deflect attention away from the greedy slime balls who are truly responsible.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Personally, I'm looking forward to the article entitled:

"Is pollution really so bad for the human race?"

Or perhaps

"Nuclear waste is good for your health! Scientist prove that limited exposure to plutonium promotes longevity"

Or maybe even

"Oceans a big waste of space on planet earth. Scientists prove that 'ocean dead spots' mean man should be draining oceans to create more land mass for population growth"

Yup. Why is it that blame always has to be boiled up and reduced down so that one specific group of people can be targetted while everyone else's hands are presumably spotless.

Was it only Democrats and their supporters who objected to the construction of more nuclear power plants in the aftermath of Three Mile Island? Was it only Democrats and their supporters who object to ANWR drilling or offshore drilling off the Florida coast?

Or are these things simply the result of broad public dialogs at the state or national level?

In fact... I'm not sure I understand why someone must be blamed each and every time.. Its ridiculous. But clearly there are a lot of people out there with an equally large amount of repressed anger.

Correct really, blame is not a very constructive emotion and isn't going to do anything to produce more oil. I think though, that some of these people actually believe that their problems will all be solved if Alaska and the coasts are drilled and that liberals are blocking this solution because they have a carbon tax fortune hunting agenda. The logic is so bizarre it's slightly worrying anyone believes it.

Not to mention the appalling revisionism and ignorance of history that is at work. I mean... why bother to look at any of the individual issues in detail - when sweeping assumptions can be made from trite political cartoons.

Although, cartoons can be funny and often are I don't care much for these type where people are encouraged to laugh not at the irony of the situation but by being bitter and hateful against particular groups. Silly.

haha. we (you too) are being continually being bombarded with natural radiation. learning is fun.

Hormesis at a Glance

All living organisms evolved and exist in a sea of ionizing radiation, much of which is internal. It is a general belief that low doses of ionizing radiation produce detrimental effects proportional to the effects produced by high-level radiation. Over the past decades, however, some pioneer scientists reported that low-dose ionizing radiation is not only a harmless agent but often has a beneficial or hormetic effect. That is, low-level ionizing radiation may be an essential trace energy for life, analogous to essential trace elements. It has been even suggested that about one third of all cancer deaths are preventable by increasing our low dose radiation.

I remember when gas used to be at $56 a barrel. IRAQ can be made as a nuclear waste dump for the new 45 nuclear plants lol. :jest:
