Hi

I feel pretty sad now. I have prepared for so long for this interview. But they didn't issue me the visa but kept my passport and asked me to wait another 4 to 6 weeks. The consul gave me a piece of paper saying I have to send them my CV besides my case is pending administrative process. It's so strange. I also asked the consul if there is any problem. He said it's no problem of my interview and he's sure I will get the visa and congratulations to me. Did anybody experienced this before? People normally get visa at the same day, right? Then what's the problem of my case? The consul also said no person was issued the k3 visa at the same day.

Sounds like your profession or career is a potential threat and they have to rule you out as a potential terrorist.

A hint as to your educational or career background would confirm that. Recently we had a member who on the surface had an education that could be sufficient to build the business end of a biological weapon.

No, I don't think anyone get's their visa the same day as their interview in Sweden.

I didn't get my visa right away either. They kept my passport and said that they would mail it to me in 1-2 weeks.

Sincerely,

Jon & Jess

The good news is they kept your passport. If they felt that there wasn't a good possibility for approval they would have returned it to you. There have been two other individuals of which I am aware on these lists who have had additional Administrative Processing and were required to submit their CVs as well. Both of these individuals were highly educated individuals, with advanced degrees or training in fields that could provide avenues to put US security at risk - if you really, really, really, reached and the information was in the wrong hands. What they are probably doing is verifying if indeed your professional training may pose a risk if it belonged to the 'wrong hands', and if you have the 'wrong hands'. Once they reassure themselves on either or both of these points you should be fine.

The point to remember is that they did keep your passport. Good luck and I hope they reach a favourable decision quickly.

Thanks to everyone's reply. I did some research about the administrative processing within these days. And I noticed that it could take more than 6 months. I'm so worried now and really feel helpless.

Ya u r right i did the research too i also calld the DOS they said their is no time frame it can take months even a year they said. but for now take the consular's word 4- 6 weeks and keep hoping for my wife consular said 3-4 weeks this is the 4th week keeping my fingers crossed
