hi guys i need ur help. my interview is on july 9 and i was wondering if the consul would be asking me for an original employment letter? i only have a scanned copy he just sent it to me thru email...

I think the instructions say original, and maybe more than one copy.

I am not sure how recent they need to be.

An employement letter is not required, its just additional proof of your current spouse's/petitioners work. When my fiance at the time had her interview, they didnt even ask one single document from her, since my salary covered 3 years of work and had all W2/1040 plus tax transcripts of those years. If the salary you are presenting is more than enough to cover both of you, then the US Embassy will not ask any more documents relating to your work. If in event, they do ask and you dont have it at the time, they will ask you to come back and provide it and place you on AR (for review) before releasing the visa.

submit original copy the best u can.... and retain copies of yourself and if u can gave them the copies the better so ur not going to secure it again. goodluck
