Please has any of you filed DCF and lives in Egypt? Can anyone answer my question concerning exactly what they consider the 6 month residency? What did you have to prove your 6 months residence in Egypt? Did anyone come here and use the Entry visa in your passport to count as one month residence? Then the other 5 months after you get your residence visa when you get married?

My hubby and I are trying to get married, but we basically been from place to place with no one knowing their own business. I can't get my resident visa until i'm married or so we were told yesterday. So, we go again today and try to complete the marriage.

I have ben here since Jan, but i've left 2 times to go back to the states. I have been here on the 3rd for one month w/o leaving. Can I count that as one month of the residency req. or I have to wait until I get the residency visa and start counting from there? Yes, I have emailed the Consular 3 times concerning this and each time they give me a link to what i've read 10 times on their website. They can't just explain to me what exactly they req. :(

I would appreciate anyones help that has been through this and knows what they will and won't accept.

i dont know about egypt but in jordan, they considered my residency together, i was there march+april, left may and june and came back in july-march...i would contact the embassy directly, anytime i needed help, they were very prompt in email responses, and they gave me step by step what needed to be done...

Although if im not mistaken, once u file the i-130, i think u have to stay in egypt til hes approved, at least that was the case with me
