Onelis just left the hotel room. We met at 10 am. this morning, and took a cab to the nearby El Prado Mall. Straight up to the food court, we sat at the tables and discussed our past, our present, and our future. I took Onelis hand, and on the P.A., I heard the words, ¨You are my fire...my one desire...TELL ME WHY??¨ and we made out in the food court like this was our last chance. Nobody looked or stared, I guess this is normal in Barranquilla. I will buy this Backstreet Boys single when I get home. We held hands out of the mall, across the street, and into the Internet Cafe where she sat nearby, and I told my parents that everything was going well, and that I was glad to have made the trek here to Colombia.

Everyone was amazed to hear me speaking English to the point that the entire cafe fell silent. Onelis and I caught a cab and went back to the hotel, where the entire staff stopped and stared as we walked in, and watched me grab my keys to the room. 1 hour later, Onelis and I took a photo - our goodbye photo, in the hotels lobby. The bellhop ¨Toñio¨ took the photo, and I promised to save this photo and my makeup-stained Rocky Point, Mexico t-shirt forever. I never wore this t-shirt, saving it for a special occasion, and today was it.

I talked with my Immigration paper-prep person Maria on the phone a few minutes ago. In 1 hr., we are going to meet and talk about things. She has been super cool about helping me while I have been here. Translation services, meeting with my dates, etc. Leidys hasn´t wanted to meet Maria since she doesn´t care for translators much, and according to Onelis, my Spanish is now 90% perfect.

Leidys is taking her siesta at the moment, and wants to meet up later this afternoon or evening. Yesterday, we went out to the movies, and later to play arcade games, air hockey, and buy ¨recuerdos¨ or reminders of Colombia. She has been staying on the sidelines because of her fear for getting dumped for Onelis. Onelis on the other hand, has told me that if it weren´t for the distance, we would certainly be together.

I told Onelis that I would call her before I leave, and I just might - just before getting on the plane. I will have all day to think about things as I return to Southern CA.

Question for the fellas: Should I call Toñio´s sister Viviana or not? Supposedly, she is a very nice woman who is looking for ¨friendship¨or more. I feel reluctant, but from the U.S., I can make my decisions, not here while I´m all caught up in the moment...

Normally, I'd say to not jump into anything or anyone hehe too soon. But you are on vacation...so dive on in baby...just don't come home engaged to somebody else.

The impression I get is he's not coming home engaged to anyone, nor is he currently "taken". What he's doing now is no different from dating. Some people get over breakups easier than others. And if Onelis can't make up her mind...or doesn't want to go with him to the US....or whatever she thinks she wants this afternoon...then why waste your time sulking?
