Personally, I don't believe she has a right to be jealous about anything. Sure, she wanted to hang out and hook up while I was in town, but this was to hit the best spots without having to pay for anything. No, I'm not down for that.

Can I just say that you frighten me? You know, that pic with the gun.:help:

I don't have the strength to finish this entire thread seriously, but for anyone that feels bad for her I just don't see it. She left the guy hanging for almost a month without any contact. That is BS. If she really cared for him she wouldn't have done that. How would any of us feel if our SO had done that to us, just to find out that she was having second thoughts? Spineless!

But dude, seriously, the new gf thought it was funny that they were beating a homeless man? And you found a connection with someone who is amused by human torture? #######?

When I went on my date to see "El Angel de Accordion", I was surprised to see there was very little information about this groundbreaking film. So far, this is the most substantial information posted about this movie I think should be seen by any fan of Colombian Cumbias and Vallenato:

Who's the new gf? I'm lost! Clue me in.

Just scroll back. You'll see her walking with taxis in the background. I don't want to say anything on this thread, because Onelis is still trying to contact me, and she is extremely jealous about the whole thing. She does go into a rage sometimes, and I worry about the safety of others.

i had a feeling that was her. good catch.

and i don't think onelis has the right to be jealous as she called it quits.

maybe she doesn't have the right but that doesn't mean she isn't going to feel jealous...

sucks to be her.

But dude, seriously, the new gf thought it was funny that they were beating a homeless man? And you found a connection with someone who is amused by human torture? #######?

The guy was about to attack the dog by holding up a chair, threatening to kill it. The sentiment in most of Colombia is for people to stop lawlessness wherever it appears, so this vigilante attitude is very pervasive there. Plus, my new gf had hopes of joining the military there. She has a very law & order sort of attitude which I believe is why she laughed when the homeless man had to run for his life after threatening the dogs life.

Personally, I felt threatened by the dog as well, but seeing the homeless man attacked made me unsettled. Here in the United States, we arent quite so hardened as people living there where living on the edge is experienced by so many more people. I feel like my gf is entitled to being as hardened as she wants to be since life there is so extremely tough.

I guess if that is how you want to look at it then it is your life. But personally I would avoid someone that is hard enough to find that amusing. That speaks volumes and volumes of the heart of a person.

Morocco4ever,

Let me add that when I sent Maria to Onelis' home to ask her questions - point blank about her feelings, her intentions, etc. Onelis basically lied to Maria, telling her the exact opposite of what she told me that evening we sat on the couch in my hotel.

Onelis misled both Maria and I. Learning this, I felt no obligation whatsoever to Onelis from that point on. My gut told me to leave this woman at once. Not to look back, otherwise I would get screwed over even worse. This was not fair - I saw no justice in what she had done. My only options at that point were to just forget about her, and do it whatever way I possibly could.

Hence, the new girlfriend, checking out all the other possibilities, questioning everything related to having any future long-distance relationships, and even taking relationships where I could start a family seriously at all. Real depressing if you really think about it.

I guess if that is how you want to look at it then it is your life. But personally I would avoid someone that is hard enough to find that amusing. That speaks volumes and volumes of the heart of a person.

Let me also remind you that my first night in Barranquilla, sitting in Restaurante Los Toneles - I was simply waiting for a bottle of ketchup to be brought to my table when a young man, a junkie, walked into the restaurant and began going through Betty and Blanca's purses - looking for money to get high with.

The people working near downtown Barranquilla were always so scared of the skinny junkies that practically ruled streets. Short, skinny men who really didn't look menacing or threatening - just zombied-out junkies looking for a fix.

In the pool hall across the street from the hotel, there were good-sized bouncers that locked the door to the pool hall-locking everyone inside, because of the fear these people had over the local community. I felt a touch of this fear when I trapped the restaurant assailant inside of the restaurant - along with the maintenance worker and the two bellhops. My instincts told me not to go hands-on with the assailant because he could have either been armed, or had hyperdermic needles in his pockets or something - my thinking at the time was, "No to be a hero." The man was unarmed, and had I known, I would have held him down until police could have arrived to take him to jail.

From this situation, I see where the locals are coming from - since they are tired of always being afraid, living in fear of crime and criminals.

You missed my first paragraph about your ex. I don't feel sorry for her in the least. The fact that she left you not knowing what happened to her for a month tells me everything about her as well. I don't blame you for moving on. She was cold and calculating. Just don't move from one heartless wench to another. I understand that they see this all of the time. I understand that they become immune to it. Immune is one thing, but to go as far as being amused and laughing is going to far for my taste. I am just saying that you need to think really seriously about her motives, and her reaction. If she is amused by this what else is she capable of? I think your head isn't quite on right after the break up. It was a serious blow, and hey if you want to go out and have some fun then go for it. But don't open your heart up until you have peace in your heart. If you do to soon you are opening your heart to just another slam.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
