I am just curious now, if there is no communication, how Ken knows that Onelis and her sister are furious at him for his new girlfriend -AND knows that she is also from their town and that her life would be at risk if they ever find out - and I am even more curious about how THEY know. From the way Ken 'doesn't communicate' with them I think his new girlfriend must be very much at risk! If he honestly weren't communicating with Onelis and her family then they would have no idea that he is coming back in December (since seeing Onelis was his supposed reason for being there to begin with), no idea that he has a new girlfriend, no idea that she is also from Barranquila, no idea about anything . . . but apparently, they do. Gee, I wonder if he thinks they bugged his luggage since he says he isn't communicating with them . . .

Reconciliation just isn't an option when you're dealing with someone with violent tendencies. I come from the school of thought that realizes resolutions cannot be brought about by violent actions. Sorry.

I think Ken isn't doing anything wrong here. Ken's fiancee ended all communication with Ken a month prior to Ken going to Colombia.Was she thinking of Ken's feelings? They are working on the visa process and she just decides to end all communication and drop out of site. Not an email, a phone call, a text message, NOTHING! With all due respect to Ken, I think we all knew it was over before Ken ventured to Colombia.

So Ken is speaking to another lady, and saw a couple others while in Colombia, good for him! Better he crawls into bed and fall into a deep depression? His fiancee really ended it a month earlier and didn't care to tell Ken. Maybe she should get a job and begin paying Ken back the money he gave her, her family and the visa fees.

I spoke with One and her sister earlier this week, and they were fighting mad at my new gf. They wanted her name and to know exactly where she lives. I'm keeping everything hush, hush, because her safety definitely is at stake here.

Before Ken went to Colombia, he hadn't heard from Onelis for a month. She stopped all communication with him. Ken didn't understand what had happened as they had no disagreements / arguments and everything was fine. Ken was worried about her and feared the worst. He traveled to Colombia because he was worried about her. It was only after he arrived in Colombia and showed up at her house unannounced did she tell him she didn't wish to continue the relationship. If she cared about Ken she would of told him the month prior instead of hoping he would just disappear as time went on.

I am only guessing but I think she enjoyed having a western union boyfriend and maybe found a better one to move on with. Just a guess Ken don't mean to offend. There are many fantastic women from Barranquilla, I am married to one and have good friends that are married to women from Barranquilla. I have to say they are wonderful, caring, loving women but there are also those looking to take advantage of a Gringo. With that said, there are many men that travel to Colombia, only seeking sex and telling the women what they want to hear so they can get them in bed.....so it is a two way street.

I'm realizing that I wasn't really dumped. Onelis wanted to come here to visit, to see what everything here was like. However, she also told me, she didn't want to be the only, "Costeña" or Woman from the Coast here in this country. She wanted to see me like we weren't separated, but there wouldn't be any official label like "girlfriend/boyfriend" or "Fiancee" like there had been in the past.

It just felt like I was going to become a future "Meal Ticket" and that's not what I am looking for in a SO. That's when I decided it better to cut my losses and move on...quickly. At this point, I have absolutely no regrets. I learned a lesson, I have a new friend, and my Spanish has opened all kinds of doors for me at work and in my personal life.

I see my travels throughout Latin America to have been a major growing experience that have completely changed my life. So, no regrets whatsoever.

If I were dumped, I would not have received an email describing how I am a "Womanizer" with no morals. I would not have had this "instant girlfriend" on my arm the day the above photo was taken either. I tested the waters, and I couldn't figure out exactly what was going on. When she found out I started to see someone else, she went crazy. I have the emails this week to prove it. Either she wasn't sane, or she's unstable, or who knows...
