It said 'no'.

That was all the introspection I needed.

That sounds pretty level headed to me Ken. If she is that unsure before marrying, you probably do have a major problem later. It sounds like being home has centered you a bit. Good deal.

The less I hear from her at this point, the less mixed up and confused I feel at this point. I was thinking the important aspect of this thread is for everyone to know one of the variables involved in applying for a K-1 Visa and have it crumble before the woman you love even got her passports and K-1 paperwork started.

Ummm if she didn't even have a passport and you didn't even file the petition then you didn't even have a K-1 visa process.

Without mentioning these two additional genres would be like ignoring a big, fat elephant in the room. Salsa and Reggaeton. Salsa never appealed much to me, or many other Angelenos - because here in So Cal, the Accordion is king! Traveling to Colombia, learning the dance moves, and feeling the multi-ethnic vibe that oozes from Salsa takes me back to my promotional work in the mid 90s with Tito Puente, Jr. Being a part of Puente Records from 1994 to 1996 until T's acceptance to the EMI Latin roster, I felt handicapped by my lack of knowledge and understanding exactly what Salsa really was. Hearing primarily the 'Romanticas' and none of the other sub-genres of this artform led me to believe that Salsa was simply, "Boring." Here are some of Colombia's finest examples that are quite the contrary.

El Super Joe - born into a family of 40 siblings, Joe Arroyo suffered drug abuse later in life, but is considered by many as Salsa's voice of Cartegena. This man's music is so human, so vital, that it truly challenges the both the conventions and the barriers of what my perceptions of Salsa music at one time were.

El Super Joe - Fue tu mirada

El Super Joe - BAM BAM

Reggaeton is primarily an all-male, Puerto Rican art form. Ivy Queen's sounds were ruminating on Barranquilla's Music Video channel "TB3" (or Television Barranquilla Tres).

Reggaeton's sound has spread throughout the Caribbean and beyond. Even here in Los Angeles, we have "Latino 96" - a Reggaeton radio station that holds its' own music events several times a year. Lately, Reggaeton has taken more influence from Salsa and Tropicales in a way of growing and challenging its' listeners preconceived ideas of what Reggaeton was.

Ivy Queen - Te he quierido Te he llorado

Can anyone tell that I used to be a published music critic, and a damn good one? :star:
